Hi everyone I am new in this field and I've recently bought few domains just to test waters :) I hope to learn a lot here and "dive in" with confidence. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Boris

I really hope so. After two week browsing web and reading info on "domaining guru" sites and youtube my mind is so confused with their cryptic info and "buy my guide" offers that this forum already looks like vacation..
Willing to bet that some of info they are selling probably were taken from this forum and just rewritten..
Anyway

There is another thread here about some of those misleading videos...you will find people willing to give advice here (most of it good :xf.smile:).

There are 'experts' in many of the extensions...I, for example, like the .com but that is not to say there isn't money to be made elsewhere.

The rule I go by is to find a name I like, do some quick research, then put it in a spreadsheet or word doc and forget about it for a day or two. Then I revisit and do a little more research then decide if I want to pull the trigger. At 8.10 per .com it is not too bad out of pocket until the renewals come due! Best of luck to you.

Thanks for welcome. Yes I was so p**** off when I realized that Boris.com is taken :P
What name did I register ? You must be kidding, after disappointment (with Boris.com :O) I have gone in rampage and bought a bunch of domains in last three days. I would be thankful for any input. And please don't laugh to much, I am just a beginner.

Hello BML,

Welcome to NamePros.

I've read your posts and it appears you are serious about domaining.
I also see by the names you have already bought you have done some research.
We like that, although I believe the best advice we could give you at this junction is.... hide that credit card.

The names you posted are not a bad start for a newcomer, but before you buy more, spend some (major) time reading up in the forum.

Read, read, read, ask questions, read, read, read, ask more (better) questions and when you think you have a grasp, read some more and ask more questions.
The members here are always glad to help those that would help themselves.

Perhaps you could start here:
https://www.namepros.com/forums/domain-beginners.25/

Read the questions and answers from the other members and start to learn the what and why of this business.

See if you can sell some of the names you already have before you buy any more. :)

Buying is easy... selling, not so much.
Take a good look at your names and ask who is the end user, how could it be monetized, and why would someone want to start a website / business on this name.

Post your domains in the Appraisal section, and see what the general perception is.

Don't take anything to heart, remember they are opinions.

Good luck.

Peace,
Cyberian
