As a newbie (7 months) I've never had a sale or inquiry on any of my domains. Obviously I have made a lot of mistakes like most did at the beginning I guess. I have around 200 domains now that are listed at afternic and sedo. Is there anyone here that can take a look at my portfolio and give me a heads-up on 1 or 2 domains to that I should concentrate on (ie send outbound).
I will list just one here so you can get the portfolio.

I'm after advice not publicity so if you see anything that I should concentrate on, you can advise in a DM.
    Thanks for your time.

Sure, would love to take a look.

I think a big mistake is when we dive in, we go into many directions without a particular niche to focus on.

Brandables, liquid, geographical.... all require marketing different ways, have different expectations and different expect sell time frames.

I made it to your portfolio but it would be inappropriate and probably against nps rules for me to post a link.

It seems you have quite a few .xyz names as well as other non .com extensions. I've moved away from all but VERY good names using any other extension than .com so someone else could offer more input than I. I've let over 400 .info, .net and .org and .online (and a few others) go in the last couple of years. It was a wise choice as virtually none of them were picked up at the drop or have since been regged.

Firstly, what I have done more than once over the years, is work backwards. Meaning I would weed out the names that clearly are not that good (radio test works here). I imagine a fourth or third could be put in the 'do not renew' column.

I am not a fan of adult names for the most part and the ones that contain 4 x's I do not understand at all...maybe I've missed something leading such a sheltered life. :xf.smile:

Lastly I would open a undeveloped account in the event you do not have one already. Some of the names that you know you should let go could be priced very, very low in hopes someone types in the name and makes a quick buy.

There are tons of threads from various domainers describing what they have learned and what they are now doing...the bottom line is quality not quantity. Use the search feature and eventually you will come across a thread or two that may make things easier.

Well, at 7 months, I'd venture to say you've barely scratched the surface..
"at the beginning" I mean I've been doing this since 2011, and have accumulated 400-500 domains. You have been at it for 7 months and already at 200..

The best advice you will receive is:
One of the biggest misconceptions is that if you believe a name is kick-ass, everyone else (buyers) will too. I think you've hit the jackpot when an experienced domainer such as infosec3 has offered to take a look at your portfolio and give his opinion. Now that's a good beginning, imo.

You can always try the appraisal section here on NP too for a good feel on your names.

Are you just registering stuff, because there is no money in that. You were also defending .xyz which is a real bad sign.

It's clear you have passion. You will get there. Listen, learn, make adjustments when needed and go with your gut. That sale will come.

I have quickly looked over your 203 domains on Sedo but have not really done a detailed analysis on any of them, so keep that in mind with respect to my 'advice' below.
    • We almost all get into this too fast, but I think 200+ domains after 7 months is too fast, so slow down on any new acquisitions until you have at least one sale. As I recall I had about 15 names after 7 months (although a bit later went into an addiction period when it quickly bloomed to about 140 :xf.frown:).
    • One reason to not have 200+ early is that you won't have time to properly present and promote them. When you add them slowly you can keep on top of this.
    • Are they listed only on Sedo? If so, that is the first thing to change. I see some names that might sell at modest prices, but with Sedo minimum you would take away almost nothing. Research shows that names with prices have higher probability of sale. I would go through your list, find some that the name is good but the buyer is probably an individual or small person company, and list them for sale with modest BIN price.
    • I would try to get a first sale at a modest price at a registrar marketplace, Undeveloped or NPs etc. Psychologically that first sale, even if in $$ range, will be a start and is important. I am not saying abandon Sedo, they get great prices on many names and have huge respect and reach, but they and Afternic have so many domains listed that unless you have a category best domain it may not get inquiries.
    • Be realistic. Across entire industry something of order 1 in 100 chance any one domain sells in any one year. Probabilistically after 7 months expect only a single sale from your portfolio, so 0 is well within statistical probability.
    • The couple of names I entered I found the landing page sort of ugly. Pick out your most promising names, and put some effort into attractive landing.
    • Use traffic as a guide. I see that TrendingSpy (com) has 40 traffic. It also strikes me as possibly the best name in your list, both catchy and memorable and with versatility in use. Try to list who might benefit from the name, and how you get people from those areas to notice it.
    Best luck on them.

    -Bob

One of the bigger problems with having Sedo as your landing page(s) is the fact that if the visitor is using an adblocker, then all they see is a white page. Because of this, you are best pointing your domains to Undeveloped, Uniregistry, Bodis, or even your own website for these. Listing on the main domain marketplaces is also a good idea, however only put a Buy It Now (BIN) on one and have the others be Make Offer.

Jumping onto social media and posting some of your domains in your signature here (and elsewhere) is another technique that helps your names get seen and could result in, at least, a nice wee contact coming your way. :xf.cool:

    Best of luck!

    Wanted to take a look

    Did you recently park it....?

If you did...maybe remove link (can be considered "spam") and add new link?
If worried about being indexed by search engines. try something like "google(dot)com"
