Hello.

I recently acquired a domain that is registered on Network Solutions.

As I always do, I configure a redirection to a specific URL on my website, but unlike all what I have experienced on other registrars, it seems I have to pay to do that on Network Solutions.

Is that for real?

Anybody knows if forwarding a domain to a specific URL can be done for free on Network Solutions?

Thank you.
Dom.

You can use NameCheap FreeDNS.

"What is FreeDNS?
Namecheap offers FreeDNS, our advanced DNS hosting service, for people whose registrars don’t provide DNS hosting with domain registration."

call them and ask them to enable it for free

If you have hosting you can use .htaccess, so much easier than any process a registrar requires.

Just drop a .htaccess file with a redirect onto the domain folder and your traffic is now redirected.

My hosting plan is at GoDaddy. I guess I will set the DNS to my GD host and from there do the redirect.

I just wanted to make sure there was not a way directly through Network Solutions. I will get my domain out of there at soon as it unlocks.

That is is the best solution, NS is a terrible sneaky registrar.

Why does NS charge $12.99 to forward a domain?!?! I was floored by this. All other registrars that I deal with do not charge for something as this? What is up with this??
