Suspension of Next Registration Rights Service

Due to our concerns about the continued delay in the launching of the underlying service by the designated registry, we are
suspending the pre-order sign-up process for the Next Registration Rights service until a firm launch date is confirmed.

We will maintain the current information we have on file for your pre-orders and will contact you in the future if a launch date is
announced. At that time, we will ask you to confirm your decision to continue with any pre-orders previously submitted by you.
Your pre-orders will not be processed and you will not be charged, at any such future time, without your prior confirmation.

In the meantime, we encourage you to consider placing a backorder for those currently registered domain names you are interested in
registering for yourself, including those for which you have previously submitted a Next Registration Rights pre-order. We have
partnered with SnapNames to bring you an enhanced backorder service that allows you to submit a backorder for any currently
registered domain name in certain top-level domains. You only pay if the domain name becomes available and SnapNames is able to
successfully fulfill the backorder for you.

Please visit the enhanced backorder service < http://www.networksolutions.com/en_US/name-it/pending.jhtml?siteid=100> for more
information.

Yes for the next three weeks until the EDP takes effect on the 21st. Not so lucky with the legal bills they're footing because of the delay.

I'm not sure ICANN's Expired Names policy will make a dent on the current
practice. Remember that NetSol changed their Service Agreement indicating
that a registrant "consents" to have the name auctioned if not renewed.

Another thing that bothers me is this:

the following changes to the obligations in the RAA will apply beginning 21 December 2004. (These requirements retroactively apply to all existing domain name registrations beginning 21 June 2005.)

What about those names between Dec. 21, 2004 and June 21, 2005?

Netsol can hide behind any veil it wants...the modification was made to address the loopholes in the previous flawed deletion policy. If the EDP has teeth, their rejigged TOS has no bearing and could get them into a world of legal hurt IMO.

Nothing surprises me anymore with this stuff. I don't know why they can't just keep the deleting process the same as it has always been...
