They require account verifications via phone. Even if you are an existing customer!

On the other hand, I was once able to call their billing on a Sunday and refund a domain they auto-renewed for me ~6 weeks prior and transfer it out in 5 minutes.

I really can't hate them after that.

Ya, I read all of your posts. I was asking you if you paid with a verified paypal account because Netfirms requires extra verification depending on your country if you aren't using a verified paypal account. It's a way of reducing fraud.

Yes mike i undestand.
our county is not supported by paypal.
so we have to use a paypal account belongs to a relative or friend living in an eligable country. may case is same. my friend have provided me his paypal account. but no control over his email account. so i am not getting any emailnotifications send to his email account. if netfirms had send the verification email to the domain registration email, then i would have notified it. any way a weired problem this is ;)

Apparently they have a very strict "confirmation process". Once I lost a domain because I wans't able to scan and send them a copy of my credit card in the required time.

From the looks of it, it appears that Netfirms is "more strict" when purchases come from certain countries of their choosing, especially if you use PayPal which many people here have said in the other threads that a lot of fraud takes place on Paypal.

It's almost like the complaint i read from another website forum when people say Adsense is more strict when an applicant is from India.

While i would also be upset if some company is stereotyping me just because i belong to a certain country, i think in these cases the hassle is not affecting everyone, unlike those i've read with registrar 1AND1.

So far i have more than 400 domains with Netfirms now, have transferred out about a hundred or so since last year with no issues.
