I was watching TV and I noticed Zune uses .net, not .com. The .com just redirects to the .net. I was wondering, are a lot of companies doing this now. I mean .net fits better on some domains.

Thanks

it is odd...until the end of last year .net was being written off as the dying extension..it was difficult to find anybody to support .net .... and then the llll.net goldrush took off and hey who is the new shiny kid in town?

Even more dying than .biz? What would have taken .net's place? .info?

Many might look back in a few years and kick themselves for not grabbing .nets while they were still available for cheap or even reg fee as many are still available.

.net means network, and all social networking sites should turn .com to .net. The current consumer value of LLL.net is way underpriced. As LLLL.coms were long gone, LLL.net's price should have rised 10-20%. Their current price should be $900. Anything below is a steal. They have great potential, and their value will only rise. Definitely a must to keep them!

I'd take a premium one word net over a mediocre or bad com any day.I see more and more people using them.

I don't think .net is any more or less popular than it was, it is a flawed extension for development though unless it is a site where people expect .net ie ISP's. As far as resale prices goes then extension looks to have grown at a slower rate than .com over the last few years.

Yea, i see good names in .net, but i fight myself wondering whether i shoud reg or not. I'm worried about natural "type-in" traffic. Its encouraging to reg names that get a litle traffic( to say the least), and .nets from my suspicion dont get as much type in traffic as i would think(maybe i'ev just regged a few bad ones).....
