maybe a relative path that you configured wrong on the script ?

its all right my friend done it but it states if the file was wrong the thumbnails might not work.
PHP:
<?php
 $pref['lightbox_path'] = '/lightbox/';
 $pref['lightbox_ver'] = 1;
 $pref['title'] = $pref['pagetitle'] = "My Cool Gallery";
 $pref['caption'] = "Hello, and welcome to my ultra-cool gallery!";
 $pref['show_date'] = 0;
 $pref['quality'] = 60;
 $pref['show_url']
 ?>
any problems? :P

Actually he has GD installed but without GIF support (because of possible licence problems with Unisys).

Unless you host the site yourself there is nothing you can do other than trying to convince them to upgrade their software :)

Is this a Linux platform ? Which distribution are you using ?
You might be able to upgrade GD with a RPM package or recompile PHP using the sources...

if it's standard install of apache/php they might of disabled the module. but as it's your server, and you don't seem that familer with it, try going to www.rpmsearch.net and see if you can find a php-gd package for cenOS there.

damn it, it use to be a great site to find rpm packages you need (been al ittle while since i've been there - if you look on archive.org you'll see it use to be a rpm search site!!!)

you can try http://www.rpm.pbone.net

or if you a little adventurious, try using yum, it's a command line program, and you use it like "yum search <term>" and "yum install <package>"

What's your CentOS version? Do you know?

In command line, you could do:
Code:
locate centos

And should show something like:
Code:
/usr/share/doc/centos-release-4
/usr/share/doc/centos-release-4/EULA
/usr/share/doc/centos-release-4/RPM-GPG-KEY
/usr/share/doc/centos-release-4/autorun-template
/usr/share/doc/centos-release-4/centosdocs-man.css
/usr/share/doc/centos-release-4/GPL
/usr/share/doc/centos-release-4/RELEASE-NOTES-en.html
/usr/share/doc/centos-release-4/RPM-GPG-KEY-centos4

You need:

ftp://ftp.centos.org/4.5/os/x86_64/CentOS/RPMS/gd-2.0.28-5.4E.x86_64.rpm

I'm falling asleep here, so I'll try to help you more tomorrow, unless someone beats me to it ;)

good luck.
