Need some advice on selling DN...got a mid XXX offer

on one of my DN...I think it is a very good name.....what should I do next...make a counteroffer of low xxxx and I have read about people finding out who is making the offer but not sure how to do that or if it is possible.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and if someone wants to pm me that would be ok.

what do you think the name is worth to you? if its a .com i would counter with $7,000 but if the name is really good then counter with more. dont counter with low xxxx unless its a name you dont want anymore and dont think there are any other potential buyers for it.

It is hard to say without knowing what name it is. If it is the kind of domain you would have offered for sale for an amount similar to the one they are offering, then counter offering three or four times the offer would be a safe counter-offer (in my opinion). I recently sold two domains following a similar pattern, specifically as described below:

Domain 1 - Offer=200 - Counter-offer=$600 - SOLD
Domain 2 - Offer=400 - Counter-offer=$1900 - SOLD

Having said that, I have had offers of $250 on domains I think would sell for at least $10,000 and I have not been able to sell them, because the buyer does not agree with my assessment. In this regard, I agree with NrMillions: It comes down to how much you think it is worth.

Thanks for the advice...I countered with 2000 but I really like the name and probably should have went higher...It has been over a day and have not got a response back yet...It is a .com...It has no real traffic...I just regged the name about 6 months ago....oh and this is my 2nd offer on this name...the other was a low ball offer

Although, I'd love to know which name you are working with, I wouldn't recommend posting it until the deal is done. If you do post the name do in such a way that the search engines won't pick it up.
