I bought a domain a couple days back and put it up for sale yesterday and already received an offer!! This is the first time I have done this and am not sure of the domain value. The domain is currencyexchange.de and the offer is mid $XXX. Any ideas on appraisal?

I'd take that mid $xxx and say "damn that was a great domain flip!"

Hi

Any more feedback? I really like this name and think it has great potential.

Doesn't look like any TM issues according to USPTO.gov, just the logo.

"NO CLAIM IS MADE TO THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO USE "CURRENCY EXCHANGE" APART FROM THE MARK AS SHOWN"

How well do English words do for the German ext?

nice domain name and nice offer. i would take it. I understand your feelings, you can think that domain worth much more, if on second day you recieve offer instantly, but may be this is situation when right buyer found right domain. So yes, i would take this offer. Good luck.

I would ask for 50% more than the initial bid in this case. Try to compromise in the middle then. Otherwise, still sell it.

I would lease it.

I think mid xxx is a fair price for both parties. I'd take the offer, personally.

I think you can get more.

Here are some past .de sales this year, excluding german words, from DNJournal:

e-Mails.de $31,582 5/17/2005
VOIP.de $26,038 2/15/2005
TravelRes.de $13,989 6/28/2005
Spyware.de $13,539 5/31/2005
Sumo.de $13,162 3/8/2005
Patchwork.de $12,387 3/8/2005
Wellness24.de $11,566 6/21/2005
www2ftp.de $11,192 6/28/2005

I think your name has some potential.

Good Luck

Also make sure it's not a scam offer. Don't continue with the sale if they ask to have the name appraised first.

I agree. Don't just sell it without making a counter offer. But, if they don't budge.. get rid of it.. That's a good profit for a newly registered name.

Just try to increase the price and look what he/she will say on that ;) Who knows, maybe he/she will accept your counteroffer ;) If not, just wait a few days, and if they will not contact you again, accept their current offer.
I would do that way :) But final choice is yours, remember that :)

Most people in Germany tend to speak near perfect English (younger ones that is).
