Need ideas for a music themed website

Hi,

Picked up MusicWires.com a while back with the intention of developing it.

It was originally going to be a forum, but now I think the domain has more potential.

I've been browsing around other music sites/scripts for ideas, but so far nothing that's really "latched" on.

Any ideas on what to do with this domain?

There's definately a lack of music sites in my opinion. Just recently I registered musicinterests.com and developed it which can be seen here http://ryan.xenka.com

Ive always planned at some point to code a MySpace type script but aimed solely at the music world.

That's a great idea, i'm just stumped over how to advertise it

Very simple, but the wires as a product could be bass strings, guitar strings, etc... may be a niche market there.

why don't you:

1st stage:
- a place for unsigned bands/artists/groups etc etc
- Royalty Free Musics left section on main page with several to show
- Music news on front page

2nd stage: - after it build some traffic:
- forum
- affiliate store
- launch your own events - like music contests between the unsigned artists/musics/bands with a public voting poll - with prizes
