.tv Need help with something

i am watching a name that is in the redemption period- but at the bottom of the listing, it says domain not found- i can not find out for the life of me who owns this name right now-
i just lost a .tv to someone in hong kong who got it on the drop and i missed it and i dont want to miss this one-

what happens to tv drops anyways- do they go to one of those expensive auction places like snapnames-

i have never followed an expiring tv before- can you give me some advice on how to catch this?

Never seen one at snapnames yet so you should be safe there!
tdnam carrys a few ... if godaddy is the registrar thats where it will end up


if you want to pm the registrar I may be able to point you in the right direction as to where it will drop if it goes to an aftermarket service.. I know a few .. but not all of the drop affilliations..

Many do not drop to aftermarket auction and can just be regged .. unless its enom and they like the name and want to reclassify it as premium ! then... you are .. well and truely ..... insert some sort of word here in the abscence of one maybe these with suffice - jiggered, screwed, turned over, had, etc .. as they just nab it and reclassify if its a nice one and add a premium renewal fee !!!

Domains go back to the registry and Verisign either keeps as a premium, makes it a premium or it just becomes available. .tv domains do not go to SNAPNAMES (Thankfully IMO)

so they dont go to enom club drop thing? i wonder if they are gonna make it a premium and that why it will not show any info on the domain at all- man i want this name

If the registrar is enom, then unfortunately it can be held and made premium... and a number have been reclassified at expiry

your only hope .. is that if it is still in redemption to approach the owner .. and encourage them to renew and you can buy it ..

domaintools.com paid service should hopefully show you the previous owner if the current who is is not
or try archive.org and see if any contact details on the pages .. or google the name name.tv and see if a forum posting identifies an owner for you .. I have saved a few from the drop this way and got them

i thought for sure during redemption it showed the owner- but on this one it is saying domain not found- which i find weird-
my search goes on- its a great name- i bet it is made premium ;-(

Dottie the owner was online.tv who I believe basically defunct they overspent too early. They are who Elequa bought Travel.tv and Mail.tv from

yeah i actually traced it to that but got to a dead stop there too
