Hi, Why do the minimum bids differ in the auction? Some are priced at $99, $79, $60, $59 and $9? Why do the prices differ?

Also, why can't I see the number of bids? I can only see domain name, time remaining, and price.

The name I'm interested in is minimum bid $99. I believe nobody else is interested in this name. If this name doesn't sell in the auction, what will happen to it? Will I be able to buy cheaper from snapnames?

Looks like you're talking about snap public auctions. Snap only shows you bids after you place a bid for the name.

If the name is at $99, i believe nobody has bid on it yet. If nobody bids on it, snap will drop the name. You can take your chances on trying to register the name before everyone else.

good luck.

Huh? I don't understand.

Do you mean if the minimum bid is $9, or $39... those names already have bidders? Why is it that names with bidders are cheaper than names without bidders? This is... not logical at all.

Also, you mention that Snap will drop the name if nobody bids on it. Why would they drop it if the domain still has another 10 months before expiry? Wouldn't they keep the domain until it expires, just in case somebody is interested in them can approach and buy direct from them?

From what I've seen this many years, those names re-appear often as live, preorder auctions.

The prices for good names will always have bids, other which dont get bids will be priced low as to dispose them off. I chanced my luck at acquiring two IDN names i.e. 2500 overture Chinese & 52340 overture Japanese names for $ 30 & $ 84.

The name was deleted today, and got snapped by snapnames. It's now in live auction. I am confident that nobody else is interested in this domain. So you are saying that after the auction ends and if there's no bid, then it enters another round of live bidding? Is there a time frame between the 1st round and the 2nd round?

I can quote an example, there was a lll.org[portfolio/preorder auction] that Snap had posted week before last, I misjudged and didn't bid on it thinking that the big shots will snap them. But to my surprise the same .org name re-appeared on the portfolio/preorder auction few days ago and it sold for $ 300 or more.

That's your assumption.

The live auction ends at 12.15 PST, that's lot of time. And the last few minutes are when the auction heats up and goes beserk, if the name is premium and valuable.
