I am building a photo sharing site and Have the name at 1and1 but Im not sure this is where I should host the site. I need alot of storage for the photos and it will only get bigger. The site will have a blog and each user will have there own webpages. Also I plan on adding free email for all users after about 3 months.
Also If anyone has a photo developing site I need a partner to link to so my users can have there photos developed. Of course I would want a % of sales.

Thanks everyone

If your space requirements are that large, why don't you look at a dedicated server? Some reliable hosts have dedicated servers for as low as $50 a month.

Surely having such plans you need a dedicated server. Managed or unmanaged it's for you to decide. But I think you'll not be able to buy one for 50$, you have to heighten your budget.

Not something I'd say. Dedicated servers and shared hosting are an entirely different arena and if you're going to go dedicated, you either need to know how to manage one or you'll need to pay someone to do it for you. In either case, you're not going to find a reliable one below about $80 bare minimum and a good bit higher if you choose managed.

How much space you reckon you'll need? I know many hosting companies can handle larger plans than they list sometimes like us. You could email some and ask them but it really depends on what you need. If you're serious about using space, I would not join one of these companies that offers a couple GB space and hundreds of GBs of transfer for $7-$10.

I absolutely agree with swampfox.

Many hosting companies offer $59 dedicated server, but there is always a catch... You don't have control panel, don't have backup, need to add ram, need to hire their technical support hours...

so, adding all these options it would come up around $120+ approx per month for a dedicated server.

If you've that budget go for a dedicated server... the best option...

If you don't have that buget right now... you can start with relatively small, but reputed company that offers 5-10 GB Space at $20/$30 per month. Emerging companies will provide you far better support/ live contacts, best features compared to well established giants.

Since you're looking for such company I will recommend you to find them at http://www.findmyhosting.com/. One of the industry leading portal for web hosting searches.
