Hi,

I want to start buying domains in the aftermarkets. I have done so on Sedo recently and understood the process well but have not used others. Can you give insights on how to proceed with buying in the secondary markets? All tips and caution are welcome. :)

Also, if you can suggest any other venues for buying domains kindly do so. The ones that come to my mind right now are:

1. Domain Forums
2. Sedo
3. Individual Domain/Portfolio Owners
4. TDNAM
5. Afternic
6. BuyDomains
7. Pool
8. Snapnames
9. Namejet
10. Auctions (TRAFFIC, DT etc.)

A bit to large of a question for me to tackle, but I'll give a helpful tip for buying in domain forums, TDNAM, or anywhere else where you speak directly with the owner...

Ask them if they have any similar domains for sale. I've picked up alot of gems by just speaking with the sellers at TDNAM and Namepros and telling them that I'd be interested in them sending me a list of what else they have for sale after this current transaction is successfully completed.

Thanks for the tip Reece.

I am looking for more insights from others.

A great choice is domain forums since you can tell sellers exactly what kind of domain your looking for.

Good luck on your search.

Another vote for Forums. Unfortunately, while the best deals might be had on ebay, that's also where there are the most scams.

Its sort of like buying a house if you're not too picky - make 25 half-crazy offers on boards or afternic, sedo, etc and maybe one will be accepted.
