i'm not sure if .ch is only for residents of switzerland

As for .ru I believe nic.ru could do...

official swiss nic price is 22 euros, at dotster they ask over $110

the russian nic asks $20 for a name

i don't think there are some cheaper ones ?

.ch is open for everyone.

.ch used to hold a reputation for spammers.

People just stay away from .ru because Russia doesn't believe in corporation. There is no way you can make money in it unless you're from russian and you're well aware of the local business environment.
