I run a site and want to improve the domain.

My question is say there is a non hyphened version of a domain that has nothing on it, would it be worth reg'ing the available hyphened version if I have a site for it already that is slowly growing?

Thanks

It would be worth it only if the domain is made out of keywords that get 1,000's of Global Exact Searches per month. Then the domain can give you a slight SEO boost.

If it doesn't get a lot of global exacts, then you're just making it harder for people to remember, harder to type, with no payoff.

Also, if it has keyword(s) that could become trademarked in the future, you would want to TM your keyword phrase.
That way, if anyone develops the nonhypen domain, they can't threaten your space with a new trademark of their own.

Thanks for the advice. This particular domains exact KWs get around 5k between UK and US (my target markets). Not a great deal obviously, but more than the old domain has.

No worries about the trademark, its a generic term.

Thanks for your time. :)

If you cannot get the nonhypen version, then I would go forward with your plan.
