GOOGLE stats & domain names

did a check on the following names on google.

the stats returns is recorded is as follows:-


searchEngineSubmission.com=439


searchEngine-Submission.com=9,110


search-Engine-Submission.com=603,000

what does it mean?..why does the "hyphen" makes so much

differences?

Does the HYPHEN makes it easier for the Search Engine

robots/spiders to index the page/name?


Does it mean that a hyphen version of a name

catches more Traffic than its unhyphen(more sought after)

cousin??

if i am developing a site should

I go for both names...using the "hyphened" name as a pointer/forwarder???

searchEngineSubmission.com doesn't make any sense in normal english. but search-Engine-Submission.com=603,000 makes sense. Search, engine, submissione, they are all seen as individual words where as searchEngineSubmission is seen as one word and hence less results.

google considers hyphes as being spaces so it searched for those terms as separate words as the name without hyphens was considered one word

Righto.
"Search Engine Submission" (within quotes during the actual search at Google) yields about 935,000 search results. Non-hyphenated as well as hyphenated, "Search-Engine-Submission.com" may both be good registrations (depending on their eventual use), the non-hyphenated as a developed site, and the hyphenated strategically used within the search engines to potentially drive traffic/queries to the former, IMHO. Resale value potential would be much less for the hyphenated version, in my view.

- doesnt count when you search so every hyphen becomes a blank space when you search so it separates the words ;D

yes I agree that most resellers have a low view of "hyphenated sites".....almost a phobia for whatever reasons

but for the LOGIC of getting traffic... I think i will go for thehyphenated name IMHO

Righto.
Do you have a related, developed website where the hyphenated domain name strategically optimized within the Search Engines could benefit, and/or add traffic or eyeballs to?
This logic would be my main reasoning for registration in this type of scenario, versus solely the reselling route, as mentioned and IMHO.

If hyphens are treated as 'spaces' by Google then results of "search-engine-submission" and "search engine submission" should remain the same but it's not so. Check it out, results are drastically different.
IMO, meta-tag play major role in number of results at search engines. Don't we see majority of website having none of these three words in their names are shown in the search results ?? IMHO words in 'names' don't make search results rather words in 'meta-tags' make the search results.
Hyphens and spaces are irrelevant for search engines results. If we think, in hyphenated case words are treated 'separately' by Google then we're seriously wrong. Proof: Only word 'search' results in about 312,000,000 entries at Google, engine 37,000,000 and submission 9,900,000 So, it's not hyphen or space... it's meta-tag.
