Need a little help

Last week photoshop cs2 was working perfectly, now it's not. The problem is that none of the keyboard shortcuts work, and when I try to use the type tool I get the error message "Could not use the type tool because the file could not be found."
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it multiple times (even on different harddrives) but with no luck.

If anyone knows of a solution, please tell me. Alternatively, recomend something I could use instead of photoshop. Don't suggest photoshop cs3, as the setup file crashes when it opens for some reason.

something to do with missing font types, missing common files, a problem with cs2 until now that has no resolution

I've just had a good read of the adobe forums, and downloaded a load of files I was missing, as well as installing 9.0.2, but to no avail.

they stop supporting it somehow see there are no clear replies from the staff
