Hi, I am trying to get a drop down menu (similar to the likes of Godaddy.com one, the one in green) but it needs to work from images which are on my HTML site.

Is it Java, HTML or something else ?

How would I go about that and where could I get one that is reasonably easy to install ?

Many thanks :)

You should seriously have a plain-text site map if you're going to use javascript menus like that. Alot of people don't want to deal with them, and many others cannot because if needing to use screen readers or plain-text browsers.

Thanks :) looks nice but I need to have something similar that I can use from an image. I'll take a good look through them and see if I can figure them out :-/ is DHTML a better option than Java ?

Some people would rather just have text links. An example would be people who use NoScript or have javascript turned off.

That amount of people would be less than 2%. The 98% rest are able to see javascript.

gazzip:
DHTML is just dynamic HTML by the use of javascript. Java is not javascript java would need a runtime plugin installed to your computer. Java is often used for games or complex applications.

However it would be wise to have a text sitemap when using these drop down links. The reason being is google read web pages as text only and may not see the links in the hidden drop down part. Though I heard google were improving their google bot to read into javascript code. I have no idea if it has been implemented yet though.

I disagree...alot of people leave javascript turned off in their browsers for sites they don't trust. You should look at the stats for how many downloads the NoScript extension has registered.

Then there's people who just would prefer a simple link instead of going through a menu system.
