.CC could stand for Carbon Composite, so the extension could be favorable. However, market data for nano technology related domains is currently lacking. I would definitely hold on to it.

Hi

Thanks for the response. I'm still trying to overcome my skepticism on the validity of using the extension as a valuation parameter. As far as I'm concerned it's a lot easier to type cc than it is to type com. But then there's the marketability to consider.

Your right about the lack of Market Data though, but I'm confident that I'll be able to calculate some sort of worth based on all the objective stats, in addition to more subjective ones.

If I were you and if I were to succeed in this business, I would get over that skepticism very very quickly. Extensions have their own worth, period. .com is about a 100 times more valuable than a .cc

here's the thing...you can brand virtually anything. You can take the most obscure extension with the most absurd name, but if you spend enough and have enough good stuff to keep the visitors happy, you will have a brand.

The trouble is, if you're selling books, and you have Books.com, you'll just need to put up a decent website to create your brand name. But if you use Krakow.sc (or whatever) to sell your books, you're marketing budget will be about 10 times everything else...
This is the reason why companies are willing to shell out major $$ for good generic .coms...no need for marketing, the name sells itself
