A strange thing happened a few days ago. I had a very long list of names in namewinner, and decided to weed some out that I probably lost. What I found was about 6-7 names that had expired several days before that were on my namewinner list but available.

I'm not sure if namewinner only tried on he scueduled expiration date and quit trying if something dropped late, or if it's just a bug in their scripts. This has happened several times before as well with a name or two. It's usually .info names this seems to happen to I believe.

Actually, I almost think the site is on autopilot. I've emailed them a couple times in the last several months about various minor issues and have never received as much as an autoreply.

It now appears I won some names on 2-3 weeks ago that still have not been sent to my account or billed.

They do a pretty good job of capturing domains, but the services and software leave a little to be desired. But at least the price is right.

timechange,

Care to elaborate? Am interested to know your opinions on NW and why.

In their defense, They've done a bang up job of getting good .info names for me, and at a price more reasonable than pool. Pool does a great job too, but the $60 starting price is more than I'm willing to go sometimes.

Simply put, their success rate has declined.

NW's success rate on .infos has been very good for me and equal to pool. maybe a little lower on com/net.

Did your successful .info domain catches at NW had corresponding Pool "snaps"? I found that when I entered a long list (~ 2 dozen) of .info in NW, they caught two for me, but the rest I was able to reg by hand, which saved me quite a bundle.

Yes, they missed a few, but won probably almost as much as pool did on a head to head basis. I think one reason they've been fairly successful with info is that I dont' think the drops are really timed precisely like the com/nets. Some names I just don't want to pay the $60 that pool has as a minimum. Especially .infos.

I wish NW sould start doing .biz names. I'm not big on them, but would buy a few nice one worders or business related names in broad industries. There are very few I'd pay $60 for though at this point.
