Hey everyone,

I am trying to get a domain I own to point to a blog I have with blogger.... On blogger they directed me to change/edit the CNAME...but I still have the nameservers pointing at NameDrive from when it was parked....
What Nameservers do I use? GoDaddy won't let me use ghs.google.com

The only other options are the default ones that just point to godaddy parked pages...

Any help in this matter would be much appreciated,

thanks!

Are you paying for the domain to be hosted or did you just buy the domain and then park it? I believe that you have to have the domain hosted by Go Daddy or another hosting company (so you'd have to pay them for hosting, this is different than just buying the domain from them and parking it) in order for them to allow you to use ghs.google.com so you can point the blog to your domain. Hope this helps.

you may use freedns.afraid.org or other free dns hosting you can find and modify cname from there

Yeah, cname is a dns management call and your nameservers need to point to where your dns management takes place.

I'm surprised that blogger does not allow simple redirection.

Good Luck

Don't know if this will help but I have a domain registered with Godaddy (no hosting) jeepvideo.com, which I am pointing to a simple site on Blogger. I find using blogger is an easy way of having a "web site" instead of a parking page.

1. In GDs "Total DNS" control panel, add new www cname record. "Alias name" should be www and "point to hostname" ghs.google.com.
2. Then add forwarding to "http://www.yourdomainnamegoeshere.com".

However I think you need to use GD default nameservers, ie NSXX.DOMAINCONTROL.COM for it to work.

This should point your "www.yourdomainnamegoeshere.com" and yourdomainnamegoeshere.com to blogger.

Cheers
