information Namerific logo design scam

In past I made few logo for Namerific and was suscribed on thier new logo alert.
A few times I remember recieved something like this:

Hurry! $20 Instant Designer Bonus available for domainname.com
There's a $20 instant designer bonus available for DOMAINNAME.com right now. Login to your account and reserve this domain now!
Once you've uploaded your design and we've approved it, you'll get paid a $20 instant bonus to your Paypal account! And yes, you still get your regular design award when the domain sells!...

This time I decided to acept this offer, so I reserved the domain and made a simple logo, not something special, but it was approved.
So I recieved the email from Namerific:

[Namerific] Your logo design has been approved and domain is live.
Your design of DOMAINNAME.com has been approved. It is now live for sale.
Note, if you need to make any adjustments please visit your Design Center > My Logos page and re-upload.
We appreciate the great design and hope to see more to come!

I asked them so where is my $20 bouns and recieved this nice answer:

It must be a typo.
Because, Namerific's designer policy is that we pay $100 to logo designer's once the domain they had designed the logo sells.

Then I asked them if it was a scam, they told me:

It is not a scam, just a typo message going from the system because of system error , as we always have designer's designing logo's first and after domain sales we provide them payment.

And by the way.. the domain and logo desappeared from thier store...
Ok I can understand the system bug and error, but never heard about system bug that offers to make a logo for $20.

It was not the first time when the domain and logo desappered from Namerific store after the logo was approved, so I understand that the domain owner could just list his domain for $4-$8 and after recieve the logo just take his domain back.
But this time it was an instant bonus promise and Namerific just insists it was a system bug

Last update:

Namerific offered me $20 and promised to fix the bug.
Domain was temporary desappeared because of owner modificatiion.
I decided not to take $20.
Hope they will fix the "bug".

That doesn't sound or look like a bug... If that's a bug then all marketers should be fired and we should just bug everyone's marketing campaigns. That's a well thought out message that's clearer than a whistle used to motivate designers to submit logos. It comes off IMO as an excuse or lie not to follow through on a promise.

Yes, it sounds like this, but I hope this time they will "fix" it to avoid the problem in future.
I told them I posted it all here, I hope this will help stop this kind of "offers".
Personally I recieved this kind of mail twice, so this was not the "just one escaped wrong mail".

to motivate designers to submit logos

if they would give a few instant $ for each selected design this could motivate better than time to time make mass "bug" mails offering $20 and affter that explain it as "system bug".

It's unfortunately they won't post a response here, doesn't look good on them and I agree with @rivey001 - that is quite a "Bug".....

Hello guys, we have already fixed the bug and the domain name for which @mayazir designed the logo for is live on the site for sale, and if/when the domain sales, the designer will get definitely get his logo design bonus.

Also @mayazir if you want the $20 logo design bonus, just mail us back with your paypal ID and we can send you your deserved bonus.

I just wanted explication and promise to fix it.
I hope this will not repeat, because this kind of motivation just makes opposite effect.

Is this the redisign "bug" or I just banned now?

Maybe they didn't mean "bug" in the sense of a computer error... Could it be that there is an actual giant six-legged bug behind the keyboard, getting drunk on shiner and getting kicks from sending out false hope in the form of promotional emails?

I imagine him having those creepy beady eyes and a devilish grin; showing his razor sharp incisors as he presses the "send" button.

Maybe the bug also banned you after you ousted him on NP
