So what..??

Total waste of money...

NP isnt popular enough to get that many typo hits, most regular users will have the address cached in their browsers and favourites so therefore typo type-in traffic therefore must be nil. And what would you do with the hits anyway??

No it's not. Domainers are a different breed of internet users. Yes, we still can't type, but we know the in's and out's of this market. We are no longer suprised to see a mistype filled with ads, and we certainly don't click in near the amounts that regular consumers do.

faisj-

It's just that I differentiate between, say, regging a misspelled product, like diamodn for diamond , than a misspelled company name, where you are gaining traffic off of someone else's unique company name. I may be in minority here, though, regarding that, because many domainers have made money off of mistyped company names.

I'd like to hope so. Anytime I mistype a domain name, I never click on any of the ads.

Well.... Do the right thing then. Redirect the domain to NamePros. You'll feel MUCH better.
Inject your referral ID into the URL and get a few NP$ to compensate for your regfee.

How is he doing the wrong thing? A good bunch of domainers buy typos for the traffic, how is this any different? As long as the site is in good taste (or a parked page), I don't know what harm there is in owning the domain.

You don't know what harm there is in typo squatting? Interesting IF RJ cared to he could obviously win this name in A UDRP dispute good to see the posts here lately

IS it illegal to try to steal an unlocked name?
WHat is the harm in TM typos quatting?

INTERESTING place

Of course he could win a UDRP dispute, but the point is what harm is there if it's only a parked page?

I'm not sure if it's illegal or not to steal an unlocked name (it probably is), but that has nothing to do with typo squatting. Stealing a domain is one thing and buying one and registering it (even if it's a typo or TM name) is a different story.

This is a domainer forum, a lot of domainers buy typos for the traffic whether it's trademarked or not. The only harm that I can see that could come of it is if it was with questionable content (porn, spam or something else), besides that it's just a loss of traffic which every site has. It's hard (actually practically impossible) to register every single possible typo of your own domain.

The whole referral code idea was good.

As i really respect this forum I removed the domain from the parkingservice
and redirected it to Namepros.
