Hey, domain sellers! 👋

We have a special surprise for you.

Continuing from last year (and last week), we have some exciting updates to share with you about NamePros Parking Landers!

First, consider this:

You price your domain name at $2,500. For years, hundreds of interested buyers want to buy it, but the price is too high for them. They don't even try to contact you because they don't realize that the price is negotiable or may change. Years later, you decide to lower the price to $995. How many previously-interested buyers would buy it at this lowered price? You’d never know — until now!

With our new Buy Now options, you can finally contact those previous buyers to increase your sales opportunities. 💸

Here’s how:

Our landers have an option that requires buyers to confirm their email address before they can see the price. Once confirmed, the price is available to them and their email address is available to you. Simple and effective. Learn more on DNW.com.

Now, let’s talk new features!

  • Buy Now: Add a Buy button with a sales price and payment options for buyers to purchase your domains.
    • Escrow.com (Recommended): Starts an Escrow.com transaction for you and allows the buyer to pay immediately.
    • PayPal: Creates a PayPal transaction for the buyer to pay directly to your PayPal account.
    • Email: You and the buyer use email to choose a payment method (e.g., crypto), discuss lease-to-own (LTO) options, etc.
  • Location: Country, region (e.g., state or province), and locality (e.g., city, town, or village) of your inquirers to help you understand where they are located, the best time to contact them, etc.
  • Bulk Management: Set options on multiple domains at the same time: prices, payment methods, appearance, etc. using our website's interface or your favorite spreadsheet software (e.g., Google Sheets).
  • Exports: Download a list of your domains and their settings, customizations, and inquiries, including buyers’ email addresses, offers, etc. (CSV format.)
  • Domain Verification: Verify your domains by using any of these methods: name servers (NS), CNAME, or TXT records.
  • Supersonic Speed Boost: Our landers already loaded blazingly fast, but now they’re even faster — a powerful increase in performance!
    • For techies: Go, Redis, and Elastic (previously only: PHP and MySQL)

Wait, there’s more!

Tell us the features that you want for NamePros Parking because we’re adding new features all year!

PRO TIP: There is a common misconception about how many domain sales happen because of marketplaces. In reality, many sales would still happen (and do happen) without the help of a marketplace, so NamePros is providing a free solution to sell domains and you keep 100% of your profit.

Our for-sale parking service is 100% free:

  • No upfront fees
  • No monthly fees
  • No commission (0%)
  • No upgraded account necessary
  • 100% of your sales belong to you!

How does all that sound?

Visit namepros.com/parking to get started! 🎉

Tip: Quickly access your parking dashboard using the "Sell" dropdown menu at the top.

Can we Customize the csv file to have only the Buy Now price and MO price. and will it automatically reflect in the lander if we import the csv file
Yes; you can choose which fields get used and which get ignored. Give it a try, and let us know if we can help with anything. 😊

@Bravo Mod Team Please clarify the behavior of the 'inherit' setting. Does explicitly using the keyword 'inherit' activate it, or is inheritance the default behavior when a cell is left empty?

The keyword (inherit) with parentheses activates it.

is inheritance the default behavior when a cell is left empty?
I need to double check this, but I believe blank cells typically get ignored, meaning they have no effect on the setting. However, there may be exceptions like the description fields where a blank cell might disable it. See updated details.

This can be checked using the “Preview” button, which shows how values will be treated before importing.

We figured it was unnecessary because (1) buyers usually pay a lot of attention to the price—and would remember it—before they press the “buy now” button on the first page, and (2) after they fill out the form, the price is sent to them in an email and all of the immediate payment methods show the price and domain at the time of purchase.

But if you think it would help buyers, let us know. It’d be easy for us to add it there, too.
When a buyer hits the BIN on the landing page, the link that's sent to them post verification for purchase, has a make-offer option too.
This creates an unnecessary barrier that might lead to second guessing, considering the buyer has already clicked on the BIN.
The make-offer option should be removed from the page that's a result of clicking on BIN and instead have a Contact seller option in its place, which is currently placed amidst payment methods.

This suggestion is only for BIN clicks on landing page and as for any start-conversation attempts by buyers, the present format seems fine.

As for Atompay, is verification for every individual domain necessary at their end to use their service?I thought considering it's an integration and the names have already been verified at namepros, it shouldn't be necessary.
I have already enabled Atompay and have not verified my domains at their platform, what exactly happens if a buyer clicks on Atompay for completing payment & Signs-in or Signs-up into their platform?
Clarify.

Our landers will have an option to disable accepting offers on priced domains within a week or two. 😊

That’s also coming in a week or two. 👍

Currently, it depends on your account level with Atom, but we will hopefully have an update to this integration next week that allows us to bypass their verification since our verification is sufficient. We’re waiting to hear back from them on the next steps to do that.

Until then, if your Atom account level is “Trusted Seller” then it’ll just work. Otherwise, it’ll show an error on Atom’s website, since this verification requirement is on their end.

To be sure, you can test it on your domains. It won’t hurt anything if you do. When it works, Atom.com will prompt you to create an Atom account. You’ll want to log out of Atom.com before testing it so that you can see what buyers will see.

We try to avoid exceptions and do our best to parse consistently. Empty cells are not ignored; they are empty strings. If an empty string can be parsed for a given field type, it will disable the field (e.g., an empty description disables the description).

Edit: In simpler terms, empty text acts a lot like it would if you left a field blank on our website. For some fields, that's going to be invalid--for example, you can't have an empty domain name, as that wouldn't make sense. For others, it's likely just going to disable that field.

Regarding inheritance: internally, "inherit" is represented as a null value in the database. If a domain-level field is null, we defer to the account-level option. In contrast, "disabled" is type-specific, but it's never null. An empty string, for example, is the "disabled" value for a string option.

Note by @Bravo Mod Team: NamePros will create an easy non-technical help guide on this soon.

I dont know if this has been discussed before but would it be possible for Namepros to put a front-end on all of the domains parked with it and create its own "marketplace" of sorts?

It doesnt have to be fancy or anything, perhaps just a simple search engine for leads to find a domain they're interested in with simple filters like tld, price range, domain length, keywords, keyword category, etc.

The main page could have top-10 domains in several categories that fit onto the real-estate of one screen. Perhaps I can create a mockup but right now its just something I was thinking of.

From that main page a lead could click on a domain and it goes to the landing page which has been set up for it and the lead can go forward with a purchase from there. The purchases can still be handled at 3rd party processors so no need to reinvet that wheel.

Participants should be given the option to opt-out if they wish.

Further down the road perhaps it could extend to allow the rest of the forum to particpate in auctions and quick sales among investors (wholesale) even if they do not have the domain pointing to namepros landers.

I can only speak for myself but I'd pay a fee to help support the building of such a marketplace. Either direct or via a sales fee.

I remember 20 years ago what Afternic was.... something along those lines. Doesnt have to look fancy, it only has to be effective at getting eyeballs on the domains and to convert visits into sales for investors.

It just seems like an interesting thing to consider. I may be wrong, dont mind being told so either. Would be interested in others ideas and thoughts.

The general concept has been discussed a little bit in this thread, but not too much. Also, we have this in the first post of this thread:
  • ⏳ Portfolio Website: A sharable storefront of the domains in your account with search and filters.
  • ⏳ Marketplace: Showcases all domains listed for sale that buyers can search and filter, along with privacy settings for sellers and their domains.

Here's what we were thinking, but please share your thoughts on it:
  1. The "Portfolio website" for each account is optional. Enabled by default.
  2. Parked domains can link to their seller's portfolio website. Disabled by default.
  3. Portfolio websites will use a parking user ID that is separate from the forums'. For privacy.
  4. Portfolio websites will only be linked to your NamePros account if you've configured the existing "seller card" option to do so. For privacy.
  5. Portfolio websites will have search and filter capabilities, one of which is the seller's parking user ID. Other filters are price, length, TLD, # of words, etc.
  6. The "Clear filters" button will reset the filters to only apply the seller's parking user ID.
  7. The seller's parking user ID can only be removed as a filter directly by pressing on its x, which then shows all parked domains that have "Portfolio website" enabled.
  8. Endless scroll.
So, when the website is filtered by a user ID, it's a portfolio website. When the website is not filtered by a user ID, it's a marketplace. Otherwise, it's the same website, which means both of those two features will be ready at the same time because they're essentially the same feature.

Eventually, we could add auctions to it. We've already built the technology for domain auctions twice in the past decade, but we've never released it. We'll probably need to build it a third time for this.

This does sound great! Would this be a main page featuring everyone's (who opts in) domains available for search? That is what I was thinking. Like Afternic used to be way back. Auctions, Closeouts, Featured, Reserve Met and closing soon, etc (all publicly viewable outside of NamePros)?

Can anyone confirm if AtomPay does the full KYC/AML document requirements from the buyer like escrow.com does?

Atom's response:

The KYC requirement is very simple - buyers need to create an account on Atom.com (which is automatically created as part of purchase flow). In some cases, we ask buyers for additional information (mainly for fraud prevention), however most verification steps are very quick, and we typically start the domain transfer process within a few hours of purchase.

Until then, if your Atom account level is “Trusted Seller” then it’ll just work.
Update: Atom is planning to add this in the future, but it won't be possible until they do.

If you'd like to be able to use AtomPay as a drop-in replacement for escrow services on NamePros Landers, please let Atom know so that they can prioritize adding it. Then, we'll be able to make the adjustments on our end to support it.

it would be Great to have AtomPay as a Escrow option

it would be Great to have AtomPay as a Escrow option
There's two ways to do that currently with our landers: either (1) you have "Trusted Seller" status on Atom, or (2) you've manually verified your domains on Atom at least once.

We hope Atom will soon add the ability to skip their verification if your domains are verified with us, since we all do the same kind of verification.

Does that mean you add them on atom for the sake of just Verification and remove the Domain it gets verified

Yes, except you would delist it from Atom (instead of remove it) so that the verification stays active.
