hello namepros members...


we all love namepros. we have got several things from namepros.. one have got great domains.. one have got nice webmaster resoruces.. one have got webdesign tips.. every one have got something from namepros.. this is really friendly and informational site..

i heard a nice quote once.

" if you have an idea.. and i have an idea.. this way we both have 'one' idea.. but if you give me your idea and i will give you my idea.. then we both will have two ideas"

i thought same thing today! :D i thought to start a "namepros community forum" it will have many concepts.. each true np member will share his ideas.. his resources.. a community with total freedom

like i have several templates.. i will share them with all members.. if you have litte free space.. you will share with others.. [yeah there will be chances of misuse.. but we have to think about it.. like who has more than 100 posts only can join our forum etc.. i need your help in this]

truly there will be no sales for cash.. yeah we can think about sales for forum money or may be we can allow sales.. which has hudge discount!!

everybudy will decide to devote specific time in a day or week to this forum.. again let me say this forum will be based on totally freedom.. no one is master.. moderator.. etc.. everyone will have all powers.. because this forum will be built by only serious forum members.. no newbies (we can decided if we want to allow newbie but it will be future idea) yeah one must have to manage administration.. we will decide.. who will be administrator..


i have decided to spend my hosting space to this site.. i will be also ready to install forum and will install hacks.. etc.. i am thinking about to install ipb .. if we have good numbers of members and who are ready to pay little amount then we will buy a vb license too..

this site will be symbol of trust.. specifically to namepros.. if anyone will have doubt.. regarding any money or any other type of transaction.. then we will ask help to -RJ- or Jeff

so guys let me know hows idea? are you interested? what you can donate..?

Why don't you just request for it to be done on this site? Since you are getting the members from here why not just request for a hidden forum with certain prerequisites?

Deu has a point there about making this proposal in Namepros itself...But I have a second thought to that. I think the difference between Namepros and many other domain forums is that in here, we only have 2 levels of status. One are the moderators (which is perequisite) and the other are users, that's all. The restriction of having a certain amount of posts before allowing users to join the "special" forum makes it "very not cool" and prejudicial to new users who are just as interested to be part of the big family regarded as special. I do not like the idea of well "pulling users" from this forum to another site. It looks like a spam to me, personally IMHO. And also, I thought all the while Namepros is meant for everyone to share, ain't we sharing?

thats right i dont mind.. if -RJ- start anoterh community forum.. where we share.. everything there.. like "marketplace forums" there should be also a froums called "NP Special" "NP Excluseive" etc..

only user having 100 posts or more only can join them..i am thinking to keep this ristriciton otherwise many new users.. can take benefit.. of it.. i am thinking so.. plz give me your opinions..

i never said pulling users from this forum.. because there will be no name apprisials.. no cash sales.. or no $np

just sharing our thoughts.. what we have to share with each other.. plz refer my first again

Of course we're always looking for areas of interest we can add to the site. We can do many things with our forum software, including creating private forums accessible only by users with almost any prerequisite you can think of. If it's not built-in already, I can add it.

I am considering ideas for private forums for members with a certain level of past activity on the forum, but I approach this idea very carefully for two reasons. 1) A private forum could seem exclusionary and create a sense of division within the community 2) I don't want to further encourage people to generate frivilous posts simply to access a forum. For instance, someone wanting access to free services may find reason to post 100 shotty replies in a day. These things aside, I am still considering these types of options for further site expansion if the purpose is good.

Basically we would be use the area for giving away stuff to each other, but only to fellow serious forum members? Let's hear more about how it would work within the secured area and see if other members have anything to add in this thread.

yes i strongly thinking that it must be division of namepros.. actully it will build for namepros members.. so there is no doubt that it is a part/division of namepros

i think they will be more interested to post 100 post in a day or couples of to get $np then these free stuff you know $nps are more valuable.. but i dont think it will be strong wickness of this idea. Actully my main intention behind this idea was to just avoid newbies who just registered to this forum for just sake of get free stuff. we can also keep a particular amount/$np to join these forums instead of particular amount of posts

everybudy have to start.. first..anyone.. you have started this forum with yourself.. now here are hundereds of members.. again my intention to start these forums is to make it more resourcefull.. trust me this way this forum will be more and more popular

i just got an idea now.. you can create new group alos there called "NP Supporter" who can only post stuff in this forums and you can also create a group called "NP Subscriber" who can only access these forum by paying $np/cash or having specific amount of posts

i will start my self.. i have hosting space.. i have templates scripts.. i will start to post myself .. lets hear from another members too!

just forgot to clear one thing.. it will be not just downloading free stuf.. but also sharing our own thoughts.. links etc.. but there will be no personal advertisements.

like i find a good software called "peer2mail" where you can use your webmail accounts lke gmail. yahoo etc as a webstorage.. i will share this in this forum

yes we can also post there our links for "free stuff" like "45 free webmaster scripts" though its our own link.. but there is no advertisement..we are just giving away

Well if it's to give out free stuff, there is already a free stuff section of this forum. Some people don't post, but they still come here, learn, click on links (therefore creating revenue for the forum). It's a good idea but there are trade offs involved.

Good points:

will give incentive to post more, make more trades, etc...
adding a new forum, new forum growth
gives a sense of accomplishment once you are allowed in
somewhat weeding out dumb questions
expand businesses with possible partnerships

Trade offs:

could create a sense of separation
users will like the new forum so much they will stop posting on the regular forums
users will dislike the new forum so much they will not post there and have a dead section

I think it shouldn't be limited to no money at all. Think about it this is a business forum, no matter where you look there is always money changing hands.

Also I don't think it should be by post number, but by trader rating. Maybe something like over 20 positive feedbacks and you're in (makes it even more exclusive). I don't even qualify with my suggestion, but it gives me a number to shoot for. The reasoning behind doing it by trader rating is if you have people in an exclusive section you might meet new people for business deals and if they have a trader rating that is that high at least you know that they aren't bullshitting when they say they have money to put into some kind of business proposition or they propose something at least you have a small sense of security.
