Hello gazzip,

When you make a search (or browse) you must have seen the two main tabs that say "pre-release" and "pending delete".

By "pre-release" they mean these are domains with enom or netsol and we don't need to catch them. They are already within our system and they will be auction of definately in this website and not somewhere else. Right now enom domains are within their system but netsol domains will come later as you pointed out.

By "pending delete" they mean, these are the domains not with a partner registrar but we will try to catch them for you if you are naive enough to backorder from us.

Thanks for the reply marcello - So, on the pre-release ones will these be open for anyone to join even after the bidding has begun ? ie: an open bid sytem like TDNAM or Live Auction at snapnames.

(unlike snapnames where only the people who placed a backorder on the name before it dropped can bid once it has started )

Thanks, please excuse my ignorance :)

ps - Do you work there ?

Gazzip,

Pre-release ones are open to anyone to backorder and the amounth that you entered while backordering is public. When the auction starts, others can not join anymore. The auction will be among only those who backordered.

It is not like tdnam or snap live auction where anybody can join the auction after the auction has started.

It is more like snapnames' relugar backordering with the difference theat your backorder amounth is public. You can backorder a domain for 70 USD or more. Whatever amounth you enter to backorder will be public.

Here are some golden rules:
1. If a domain is under pre release and has no backorder yet, don't be the first to backorder it. Wait until the last moment.
2. If a domain is under pre release and has a backorder for 70, enter 70 usd but not higher.
3. If a domain is under pre release, never enter more than the minimum (70 USD) to backorder it.

Example:
LoansDirect.com shows 3000 USD. This means, although you can still backorder this domain for 70 USD, there are domainers you have entered as much as 3000 USD for backordering it.

The aucion for LoansDirect.com will start on 29th October 2007. If you want to join that auction you have to backorder before that date. To backorder it you can enter 70 USD or any higher amounth.

Why are some domainers entering more than 70 USD just to backorder the domain when 70 USD would be enough? Because namejet is a crappy company and they encourage you to enter more before auction starts. Of course this makes things only more complicated.

ps - Do you work there ?
Of course I don't. Thanks God not. I'm getting crazy with these folks. It's such a bad idea to call other registrar domains "pending delete".

Godian,
Their terminology is very very confusing. I'm a domainer for more than a year and I could not understand what they mean.

"Pending delete" is a term that could apply to all dropping domains and not only to those that are with other registrars.

Also pre-release is a term that could apply to all domains and not only those that are with a partner registrar. It is unclear.

When you visit the website you don't know yet that pending delete applies only to other registrar domains and pre-release applies to only partner registrar domains. Just tell me one thing: A domain listed under pending delete section muct have passed a redemption grace pediod, right? It must, because otherwise it would not be pending delete right now. Therefroe you automatically thing those pending delete domains must be under pre-release a week ago. There are graphics on namejet that explain pre-release as a redemption grace period.

"Pre-release" at namejet does not mean pre-release. It means domains with a partner registrar that are already within the namejet system and don't need to be catched.

When I first saw "pending delete" and "pre release" I thought they have devided all domains in two groups according to a timeline.

Normally a dropping domain would pass redemption grace period and then it would pass pending delete period. So I thought they have all dropping domains in one pool but have devided them according the period the domain is right now. I thought all pre-release domains would show up under pending delete when the time comes.
