Cool.....I was able to login using my enom account.

I guess NameJet didn't waste anytime to launch their site.

according to the NameJet about us page ... and the blogpost on domaintools ...

NameJet gets all the domains from Network Solutions , eNom and BulkRegister after expiration prior to getting deleted ...

TDNAM gets all the GoDaddy expired names after expiration prior to getting deleted ...

SnapNames probably gets domains after expiration prior to getting deleted from partner registrars that it has agreements with , but as it seems not from NetSol or eNom anymore (except maybe for a transition period , eg. names with bids prior to NameJet logically will go to SnapNames)

Pool tries to catch the domain after they get deleted ...

NameJet and SnapNames also try to catch names after they get deleted , as well as GoDaddy backorders ...

I could never backorder a single domain through clubdrop because of their annoying website. I would become an idiot every time I visited clubdrop.

I'm now checking namejet. It is not as half user friendly as snapnames. Why do they have 4 different sections to search? Can somebody please help me to understand:

At snapnames when I type "London" I see all the results together in one big list. There are

1. expiring domains with auction start date. These include:
1.a. domains coming from partner companies
1.b. domains coming from other registrars

2. live auction domains already catched by snapnames

When I go over namejet I see these:
1. pre release
2. pending delete
3. auctions

What is pre-release? Are these the domains that come from partner registrars? Does it mean they have these domains already in their system?

What is pending deletes? Are these the domains that come from other registrars? Does it mean they will try to catch these?

What do they mean by auctions? Are these the domains that come from partner registrars but were not backordered by anybody. So this would be the equalent of "live auction" at snapnames. Is this right?

I have read all the FAQ section and didn't understand it. They are using sometimes two or three dirrefent terms to express the same thing. The terminology is very confusing.

Can somebody please look at my previous post and explain me what "Pre-Release", "Pending Deletions" and "Public Auctions" are?

I think "pre-release" doesn't refer to domains coming from partner registrars but it refers to those that are in "redemption grace period". Is this correct?

If it is, then it means all domains that I see under "pre release" section will move to "pending deletions" section when the time comes. Is this correct?

Is it only me who understand the snapnames system but doesn't understand clubdrop/namejet?

They really need some more functionality to the search parameters.
The good thing is the more competitive this arena gets the better if will be for domainers.

Let's hope they get it right, i never liked Snap, so i'm really glad that there's a competitive product showing up...

The only winners are SNAPNAME original owner who sold the company for nice chunk to domainsponsor. Infact may be fool them.
The loser are domainsponsor and us the consumer.
ENOM parent company demand media also does testing and all the expires domain at enom are automatically renew by enom and parked.
So nope we are not the winner. We might have to pay more for backordering $70 vs $60 !!!!! and more in future. and now one more website to search for domain lol more work

Namejet seems to inherited the same junk interface from clubdrop, except they don't have the reverse auction now.

You don't know who you are bidding against and can only bid the multiple of 10.

Worst of the big three and just don't know why netsol come to namejet. Maybe they take less cut?

BTW, don't see netsol names yet in their 30 day list. Maybe will come later?

Hi,

I'm still trying to understand namejet's system. Can somebody please help me?

Because all their explanations are rubbish I decided to check myself what is what. I copied a list from "pre-release" section and checked registrar. All domains under "pre-release" section are either from netsol or enom.

If we convert this into snapnames terminology, netjet's "pre-release" means "priority partner domains" that are already in their system. They don't need to catch those.

I then copied a domain list from "pending delete" section and checked registrar. There are all kinds of registrars here including netsol and enom.

So my question is, "is a domain under pre-release eventually going to appear under pending delete section?"

For instance 0216.com is listed under pre-release and is an enom domain. It shows 13d 3h 35m until auction time.

Does this mean 0216.com will move from pre-release section to pending delete section 5 days before the auction start?

I have one more question:
At snapnames I have found the domain name learnmaths.net with an auction start date of 24-Oct-2007. There are 18 days. The domain is with directnic.

I come over to namejet and search for learnmaths.net but it is nowhere to be found. If I understood this correct this domain will appear under pending delete section at namejet on 19th october, 5 days before auction. Is this correct?

This means you can not see an expiring domain at namejet if it has more than 5 days to drop and is not registered with one of their partner registrars. Is this correct?

They've got some nice names on there, some that I even considered backordering...However, I can't really figure out how the system works, even after reading the FAQ.

Hopefully over time they'll make it more clear.

marcelo and Epic - check this thread for a description of the expiration cycle ...

then check my post in the first page of this thread about what is Pre-Release and what is Pending Deletions

in two words ...

Pre-Release are domains that are "acquired" by NameJet before going to Registry Redemption Period and then deletion (after the 5-day Pending Delete Period)

Pending Deletions are domains that passed the ~30-day Registrar Redemption Period and the ~30-day Registry Redemption Period (many times collectively known as Redemption Period) and are at the last 5-day period (Pending Delete Period) before they drop and become available to register ...

if a domain is Pre-Release and does not get backordered (and not bidded in the 3-day Public Auction that follows for domains that were not backordered) , it will go through the Registry Redemption Period and then appear as a Pending Deletion domain in NameJet (and other dropcatchers) for the 5-day Pending Delete Period ...

if it gets backordered by more than one person it goes to a 3-day Private Auction , where only the people who backordered it participate ...

of course this refers to domains registered at NetSol or eNom ...

this page in NameJet might also be useful ...

Godian,

I'm a domainer for longer than a year. I have bought at least 50 expired domains so far. I know very well the expiration cycle. The problem is netjets terminology is too confusing.

Instead saying "these are our partner registrar domains already in our system", they use different terms such as 'pre-release'. The expiration cycle applies to all domains, not only enom or netsol. When they say pre-release you don't make a connection between this term and partner registrars but you think it must be all domains. Then you think if it is all domains why are they seperating pending delete and pre release. It doesn't make sense.

I now understand that pre-release at netjet means partner registrar domains.

So you think that a pre-release domain will go to pending delete section only if it is not backordered during pre-release period? This is interesting. It means they are selling enom and netsol domains without the domain entering pending delete. Is this correct?

Assuming an enom domains is not backordered during their pre-release time. How long will it take until it appears under their pending delete list? Will it be immediately?

Assuming there is an enom domain under pending deletes at namejet. Is there any chance that snapnames might catch that one? If the domain was under pre-release we knew that snapnames didn't have a chance because it was an enom domain. How about domains that show under pending delete at namejet and are with enom or netsol? Are these not already within thier system? Will they now try to catch them? If they try to catch them I better backorder from snapnames as well.

Godian,
On this picture it says "you can backorder any domain until short before it drops". The graphic also demonstrates that backorder works through pending delete period. According this you should be able to backorder any enom domain during pending delete.

In your last message you are saying that an enom domain will not enter pending delete period if it is backordered during redemption grace period. As you see the issue is not very clear yet.

Epic,
If you are used to snapnames you might know that when you make a search without typing any keyword and without selecting any option you will get the whole list.

Any reasonable person would expect to see the same thing at namejet but it isn't there. To see the whole list you need to select browse on top menu. This will take you to the same domains as if you are doing a search without a criteria.

Interestingly while they have put the useless "browse domains" within the menu, to make any search you will need to click the botton on top right corner. This website is very annoying.

I think it is a rather simple procedure ...

if you backorder a domain at NameJet while it is in the first 40 days after expiration (10-day Renewal Grace Period + 30-day Registrar Redemption Period) and therefore as a Pre-Release domain (therefore before the "Time Left before Auction" on the Pre-Release list expires) , then there are two scenarios ... you either get it at minimum or go to a Private Auction if others backordered the same name ...

if there was no backorder until the Auction Time ... the domain goes to a Public Auction for 3 days ...

if there are no bids in the Public Auction , it will go through the 30-day Registry Redemption Period and appear as a Pending Deletion domain on NameJet (and other dropcatchers) for the last 5 days (Pending Delete Period) before it drops ... if NameJet catches the domain when it drops , it will go again to an auction ... if another dropcatcher cathes it , it will go to an auction there ...

the Pre-Release scenarios apply only to NetSol/eNom/BulkRegister (since NameJet is a collaboration between NetSol and eNom) ... GoDaddy expired domains goes to TDNAM ... while anybody (dropcatchers/tasters/domainers) can try to catch any deleted domain when it becomes available (after Pending Delete)
