Hello domainers,

Black Friday & Cyber Monday is fast approaching and there are only 3 days left. Good news is that NameChaep is offering up to 98% discount on domains, hosting, and SSL certificates on Black Friday & Cyber Monday. Keeping in mind their already low prices, I think this will be one of the best discount on this Black Friday.

If anyone of you is looking to create own website/portfolio, you can setup under $10 at NameCheap during the sale period. Feel free to message me if you need any assistance.

Edit: If you're interested in other registrars or hosting providers: check out more promo here.

Did everyone have luck picking up some .coms? I think I had about a 90% success rate.

I was interested only in .com and I finished with 15 in total for now. Still waiting for another one to arrive in my dashboard. It was for both Friday and Monday of course. Had two more on list, but these ended at Name.com, since NC finished .com promo too early yesterday.

Still not sure this deal is worth of all my time I spent with NC during the promo. But somehow I got so tempted..

I had a bad experience with NC.

Managed to get just a few.

Most of the time I was frozen out or my cart changed back to normal prices at checkout.

I followed the rules and only tried to reg a couple of domains each time.

After a disappointing experience I am not looking forward to trying again next year.

I followed the stellar advice of @CJ6 in the other thread and got 2 coms and 2 nets (in different hours) I goofed up for ME (dot me lol) cuz I wasn't ready before the hour started. I only tried once before reading the trick - no joy, then using the trick correctly was perfect. Although the first I was lucky, according to whois my names regd at 1 minute past the hour the second took way longer, I almost had given up then tried again and were regd at 18 minutes past the hour

Bookmark for next year : grin :

Was kinda amusing, in a thrill of the hunt way, I hugely prefer MyDomain SuperSales, got that system down pat

I was already using this "trick" from the beginning and still had limited luck getting all the domains I wanted.

Yes, it also depends on your internet connection and LUCK

@Cdomains - are you hanging out with us in the domain/mydomain/netfirms/dotster SuperSales threads? It's Black Friday about every 2 weeks, though there is mild frustration sometimes, they clean up and honor issues in chat most always. $1.59 - $1.99 depending on coupons

My preference is MyDomain explained here http://www.fishpaste.net/SuperSales/BestChoice.html

I just started this thread, been meaning to for a while

I am aware of these deals but have not used them because I do not know these registrars and have asked on the forum about them but have not received many answers.

Are mydomain / netfirms / dotster OK to deal with?

How easy is it to push a domain to a buyer, or transfer out?

Any issues with these registrars I should know about?

I know some registrars charge to make a transfer or a push.

Thanks

Sometimes you get a deal and sometimes you get what you pay for........after reading this thread I wonder how any transfers or how good is the support for them? Sounds like people spent hours just to save 5 bucks. That is why I run my own godaddy reseller account hostnhub.com I can set up domain deals any day of the week. I get enough kickback from my own domains registered, that it pays for the reseller fees.

Namecheap has better support than GoDaddy. Their chat is available 24/7, unlike GoDaddy.

I've registered 16 domains during their promo for just under $20. So I saved lot more than just 5 bucks. Yes, I spent too much time and I'm not happy about that. But I could use Name.com and their $3.99 promo for .com and comfortably register all these domains in one minute. Again, better than what GoDaddy offered.

And after 2 months I may transfer them to GD for just $7.99 per domain. So I will have them registered for two years for just around $9 per domain, instead of registering them at GoDaddy at a first place.

Anybody have experience with these registrars?

@Cdomains - you will likely learn the most by skimming through the existing threads, you can search within each thread for specifics.

I'll add some hints in the consolidated thread since this is way O/T for this thread, just gimme a day or two : smile :
