Hi,

Ironically enough i seem to remember asking this very question once, and by coincidence it has coem true.

My sister recently asked me to put up a small online illustration portfolio up for her, so the other day i went right ahead and registered the domain (her name - dawnjewell.com)

Out of nothing more than boredom a few minutes ago i put the name into google to see if it had crept in yet, only to see the domain on a drop list from 04.

So a quick trip to archive.org brings me to these pages:

http://web.archive.org/web/20040324184219/http://dawnjewell.com/
http://web.archive.org/web/20040604012159/http://dawnjewell.com/

Looks like "Dawn Jewell" is also the name of a singer of some kind (admittedly i had noticed this from her myspace page before i discovered this).

So basically the thing i want to check is, since this domain is being used for my sister and nothing to do with this other woman or her work, if anyone was to come after the domain (which i doubt would happen) or anything like that i can tell them where to go right? :)

edit: Those pages now seem to be located at http://cdbaby.com/cd/dawnjewell, looks like they just let the name drop as it wasn't used?

Matt

As it is your sisters name and she is using it for something completely unrelated there is no argument that cannot be satisfactorily disputed.
