Name.com offering random discounts?

I was registering some domains on name.com today and was surprised to find that with no coupon code, they gave me $0.40 off on 3 domains - seemingly at random.

Has anyone else had this experience before, what was the TLD extension of the discount you received, and the amount?

This sounds new to me. Is it a TLD-related promotion or did they simply give you a discount on those three while you had no discount on other names with the same TLD?

I had 2 of the same TLD in the cart from a few days prior.

I added 3 more and saw they had a 40 cent discount each - the original 2 stayed the same.

I then added about 40 more of the same TLD and saw they had no discount.

Maybe if I had added 1 at a time or something they would have given me more discounts, but I'm happy with what I got.

I took it as a sign and regged those 3 Getting the others later today hopefully.
