MysteryAuction.net

I had just picked this up today. I am not a huge fan the .net but I was looking for something that had to do with Mystery & Auction. Well the .net was one of the only (good ext) available so I picked it up. I was kind of surprise really. What would you value the name Developed and Not Developed?

Any way, let me know what you think. ;)

I also spent about 20 minutes and started a site on it. If you would like, feel free to take a look and give me some ideas as well. ~ Keep adding, better design (I am no developer in any way) sell the domain etc. www.MysteryAuction.net The site is Live and updates automaticly, so once it's done, it's done. Also getting a logo for it, which should be up in a couple days. Any help would be great. $5 Np's for your appraisal ;)

I like it....

Hello Jamie,

I don't care about the .net/.com discussion-I really like the name, the net fits it even better-- you could really turn it some "secret auction" site, where people bid on something they don't know....sounds like fun :)
All what you have to do is to reveal some informations like" today, we gonna have this mistery auction, it's a car-build in 1992,color yellow, yada yada yada....but like in this famous gameshow with the 3 gates, tell them to bid on one of them....and in 2 of the gates are matchbox cars.....and in the remaining gate is a ferrari(you need to have sponsors for that kind of game) :)

Another thought of mine, i recently got 3 domains, :imho: they are good, (got a couple nice responds and i try to develop them right now) but it is a PITA to develop them....If you don't have a progger/designer sitting next to your side, you are better of to contact as many of the auction sites or auctionairs (maybe powersellers?) and try to sell your good domain name...

My 2 cents :)

Good luck, whatever you do with it

Frank

The Jamie I know, would never register a .net - this cant be him! But if it is.... Mystery auctions tend to do very well on ebay. Ive noticed a lot of LLL.com Mystery auctions in the last 6 months.

There also seems to be a lot of activity in the domain market for "auction" domain names, atleast according to namebio.com.

I would value the domain name at low xx-mid xx reseller. Sorry bud, the .net does kick the value down quite a bit. Unless your gonna develop, I wouldnt call this one "Jamiesque".

Oh... no NP$ for me.... You dont have to bribe me for my thoughts!

eBay is the obvious target with this domain, not in terms of reselling it though.
It seems to be a (very disturbing) trend on eBay that Mystery Auctions are the most viewed ones and constantly make it into the coveted eBay Pulse.
There are plenty of sites out there that feature abstract auctions, however, i think your name has BY FAR more potential than most of the other names i've seen coming up.

Would be interesting to make a "catch all" site and feature the best of the best of all the other sites, practically a site that stands above all the other sites and still feed of eBay at the same time.

I'd say this should make an easy mid - high $xx undeve'd, if you find the right end user you can easily get into the low $xxx with this one. Of course, dev'd and positioned correctly, this site could be a winner!

Thanks guys.

Maybe some of you didn't read the whole post....... I started to develop this as well. The site shows the Most watched Mystery auctions on ebay, Newly Listed Mystery Auctions on ebay etc.... Let me know if you like the start of the design. I did not put that much time into it yet. ;)
