Myspace = Backlinks?

I remember back when I was promoting on Myspace, they counted each link to a site as a backlink. (it's been a while)

Are links on myspace pages (comments etc.) still counted as backlinks or is it now just for traffic?

i haven't been to myspace a long time but just to post in the bulletin i think it delivers some decent traffic to it.

Yup, I've gotten thousands of visitors from 1 bulletin but my question is does it help for SEO as well?

yes it does their bulletin posting are indexed on google as well
with 309M results in google and a pr of 8

Well I think it is still effective. I have used it before but sometimes lazyness could really be a problem... :D

I read from another forum that most social networking sites are now "nofollow" to ward off abuse. Is myspace one of them or is it still a dofollow?
