Yes, a new one just came out called "Pigeon" but it mainly affects local business directories.

Indeed, the Google Pigeon rolled out a week ago, affecting mostly local search results - both positively and negatively. So it really matters if your website was aimed for the local audience or not.

If not, maybe you have been penalized for something else you did wrong. Check when exactly you experienced the drop in your Webmaster Tools and analyze your actions in the short time before the drop. Did you add any new content that might be considered spammy? Or you might have added 100 new links with little to no relevance to your business? Just a few hints to consider, but careful research is definitely the key.

Don't be panic, there is no update rolled out. Its Google dancing just wait and watch. You will soon gain your rank, just focus on your SEO. An Update will rolled out in september 2014.

I don't think the most pigeon update was really that recent..I mean, it was weeks ago! If you're just noticing a drop in rankings now it probably wasn't from pigeon. Did you do any new link building or anything recently? If so, it sounds like you may have been penalized. Time to start going through your most recent links!

If it's a pretty new site, that might be standard. I've been playing around with a site (hoboism [dot] com) for a few days now and the search engine rankings are borderline nuts. Depending on when I check, I'm between page 1 and 6 for my domain keyword (hobosim) and it seems to jump all over the place.

Zero link building so far...and almost no content. Just a seemingly unpopular keyword
