My Proxy Experiment

I've been getting a lot of questions about running your own proxy. My proxies that I've created in the past have all been small scale secure dependable proxies that were anti-SEO'd and anti-robot indexable to make them safe from filtering services. I' have no decided to see if running a large scale proxy will work.

It will initially start here at http://wu.freecphost.com/ until I subscribe to a paid server (hopefully within the next few days).

Follow me in my journey here as I will try to post frequent updates as to how things are going.
All Dates and Times are in EST:

Day 1 - 15 Jan 2006 - 0530
I wake up and can't sleep anymore, the initial idea pops into my head and I setup my site

0600 - The site is setup using a free script, and submitted to 4 topsites and proxy.org. I add a statistics tracker so I can report here to you all and some advertising.

Update - After a day offline, I am now listed on proxy.org Today I had 27 Uniques and 301 page hits

It could also be the free host...

Those usually have a lot of downtime.

I have now apparently been banned from the host which I think is a mistake just like last time, I will restart this once I find a paid host in the next couple of days.

Thanks for eveyone's continued interest and I will start a new thread and link to it here when when I get the new server up.

most web hosts do not allow proxies..or those that do will terminate your account once you near the allotted bandwidth. Looks like you'll need a paid web host for sure.

This host had no objection to it and i've not yet reached my b/s I'm actually banned on the community forums which caused my account to suspend, I have yet to figure out whifh of my 5 or so posts would have been inflammatory, my guess is that the wrong person was banned but I still have all the files so just the statistics will be reset when I get it back up and running
