My New Haircut

All the guys around here have buzz cuts.. Misty told me I better never get my hair cut like that. That sounded like a challenge to me so here I am.. :p

Can't wait til she sees the "new me"! :hehe:

My girlfriend will "love" the fact a girl I pointed out to her the other day was the one who cut my hair. :p I'd never met her but she was outside talking to some of the neighbors and I mentioned wanting a buzz cut and she volunteered to do it.

Hmm, I suppose 'buzz' is similar to 'bur' or 'burr' (however you want to spell it) - I usually get my hair cut pretty short, like a size 1 or 2 on the 'ol trimmers.

You all can just barely make out the big knot on my head from years ago in that picture.. I knocked my head on a ceiling beam going up some stairs at a fast clip.. knot never went down.

It was more me getting it cut out of curiosity, always wanted to do it to see how I'd look. If my relationship hinges on whether I wear it the way I want it or the way she wants it, better to know that now.. I don't see her being mad, despite what she said.. I'm a cute little fuzzball now

I'm afraid I don't find that argument convincing. I suspect it has nothing to do with hair. To me it looks like a test of your willingness (or lack of it) to move toward a shared decision process. Given your response in this situation can she really expect you to work out mutually acceptable solutions to important issues such as behavior standards for the kids, major spending decisions, etc?

Yeah, I suppose I am pushing my weight around a bit to prove a point, but hair styles don't involve a shared decision IMO. But bills, the kid's behavior, etc? I'm all about talking those things out if called for.

If I have to look, walk, or talk a certain way to have somebody care about me.. then it's not me they're looking for. If she's upset because I got my hair cut, it's not my sparkling personality she's after..
