Here are a few new domain names that I'd like your opinions on:

greencrossover.com

greensportcoupe.com
greensportscoupe.com
greensportsedan.com
greensportssedan.com

hybridsportcoupe.com
hybridsportscoupe.com
hybridsportsedan.com
hybridsportssedan.com

hybridhatchback.com
hybridhatch.com

Here's the news story that inspired me. I'm thinking end-user sales to auto manufacturers could do well. I hope! :) "hybrid sports sedan" seems to be the best so far, but I have high hopes for "green crossover".

I'm looking at these as investment-quality names instead of quick sellers, as the green- and hybrid-car movement is still in its infancy. Green sports cars are even more so, but I predict they'll be BIG within the next decade.

I added more info to the OP. This is not a bump...

Can't see any auto maker or dealer touching those...green is still a colour.

I think the manufacturers would do the following:

honda.ca/hybrid
ford.com/hybrid

etc...

I'd also like to point out that although this technology is new to you, this is old news to those in the biz....what that means is: if the .com names are available, it is not because you are the first person to think about them, rather it is because no one in the biz wants them. It sounds harsh, but hand regging .com's is generally a bad idea for undeveloped names.
imo

I agree with tpruby, none of these domains are worth anything , you would be lucky if you could get the reg fee back.

I disagree with the comments above. I think these will be valuable in a few years to come. Well done for thinking forward. Hard to say what they may be worth, you never know what someone may pay for them. But imagine in 15-20 years time when it may be the only way to travel round.

My favorite is hybridhatch.com

Simply because a word related to an automobile and the word hybrid are combined, does not make for a potentially valuable domain name.

Be honest, how many people search for, or in general conversation, state "i'm going to buy a new sports coupe, or sports sedan.' No one, overture ' sports sedan' 159 searches.

These names are weak, the opposite of compelling and will never be valuable.

Ask yourself, why would these names be valuable in 20 years, when hybrid cars are sold now and the names are worth reg fee?

How many times do you visit : " internalcombustionengeingHATCH.com" or ethanolsportssedan.com or biodieselsportscoupe.com or greenfuelsportscoupe.com....you don't and the auto manufacturers don't want you to either.

Do I sound harsh, a bit maybe, but these names really are not worth anything.

Your Latest Adventure.

I'm not sure I'd feel too bad about it. I happened to do the same thing myself early on. I reggd some crazy names like getyourown.com, isthatyour.com, yoursellingthat.com - actually got a couple decent offers on imsellingthis.com - I wish I would have sold when I had a chance.

But anyway, they all sucked and I realized that after I got my hands on a few good names. Of course you have a right to your own opinion, but I think if your intentions are to invest then you should perhaps concentrate on picking up names from a drop list or maybe (hopefully) trade all your names for (1) decent one.

Perhaps Ford will give you a call and want to buy your name(s), just don't instill much hope that it will in fact happen.

Best of luck to you.
