I'm just starting out so I don't want to invest a ton of money in typo domains, but I saw this one and it jumped out at me.

Obviously a typo of Giants.com which is the official site for the NY Giants, which has an OVT w/ext of almost 5,000 and an Alexa ranking of 19,000 something.

I'm just wondering what you guys think of this registration? I know that personally most of my typos occur with R and T on the way to a letter to the left of those afterwards (if that makes any sense), so I thought it was good, but it had just expired, so that made me a bit leery. Why would someone let a domain expire that had typo traffic coming in? And why wouldn't it be up for grabs at Pool or something like that?

Please let me know what you think.
Thanks in advance.

See what traffic it gets and how much revenue it makes. If it makes $5 a month, then times that by 12 and thats what it is worth - IMO.

when i first read the subject of the post i didnt have a clue what gianrs.com meant. And from being from England Uk the Giants aren't my first train of thought. however i do think this could be a good little earner. In my opinion i would advertise it, get some revenue from it. Then email it to all the webmasters associated with the Giants show them the revenue and the Uv stats and see if you can do a deal. There is also a good section on this forum that shows recent sales of all kinds of domains. this could be interesting to you to get an idea of resale value. IMHO

I'll have to give it a week or two to really see what kind of traffic it gets, it probably will get even more during football season. Maybe they'll make it to the Super Bowl this year? haha

So far it's gotten 6 uniques in a days time.

Not a bad reg, Final value will depend on traffic & revenue. Hold on for a week or so and see how it is doing. Good Luck.

So you should get between 150-200 uniques a month. Not too bad. If it makes $1.00 a month it's worth keeping. Just do that a few hundred times over and you have a car payment!
