Hi

I won a .com on TDnam 2 weeks ago. The transfer became complete today. I did a Who is search and hold and behold my name, addy and phone are offered black on white for the world to see, I don't really like that.
I am with godaddy and they charge quite a bit to add privacy to my domain registration, they also charge to park my domain and get a return on clicks???
I know about DNOA and the privacy they can provide but is there something else I can do to add privacy for free at this time on this domain?
If it's too late with godaddy on this domain, what shall I do, where shall I go next time to register a domain and get free privacy and free revenue with clicks?
The last question: Can I buy domain names off TDnam in the future and not get charged the reg. fee upon checkout and register somewhere else?

Lots of questions I know, feel free to answer only parts of this post, I am learning the ropes.

Thanks a lot

Patrick :santa:

it kinda goes with territory so to speak....unless you want to pay 19.95 for each domain name you register to have privacy put on it....i get solictor phone calls... people calling with miracle potions and stuff all the time-LOL....I can't prove it's due to open records of whois information.....but i would just about bet my last dollar it is.

Lots of places give free whois protection now, choose your favorite and transfer there.

Get a PO box or something to give yourself a modicum of privacy and keep that addy on file with GoDaddy.

Now that your name is out there, it's pretty much permanent. Even if you eventually do get privacy attached, lots of services will record that information and keep it in perpetuity so that if someone wanted to find out who you were, they could.

When you win at TDNAM, you have to stay with GoDaddy for 60 days. Just don't change any whois settings during that time and then you can transfer away.

You can avoid telemarketers by getting every number you use/own listed on the Do Not Call list which has worked great for me. In my time I have only had two markters call me after being placed on the list and demanded the removal of my numbers and told them I was also on a DNC list which bans them from calling you again.

As the previous posters mentioned as well many places offer free privacy which you should take advantage of.
