I just received an offer for a domain I snapped a few months ago for $60.

the domain is www.luckbet.com and the offer is $250.

Do you think that is a fair price.

If I counter, what do you think is a good faith counter?

This is my first potential sale so any advice is appreciated.

I don't think its worth losing the deal over $50-100 that you may gain through a counteroffer. Accept the $250. Good Luck!

I would have to say take it. It is a decent profit.

lol...4 or 5 figures $1500?

yes death... 4 or 5 figures. the point of the response is to (1) indicate that they'll need to do better with their offer and (2) be vague about what might work... the effective range of "4 or 5 figures" is $1,000 to $99,999, however, most will assume that it means somewhere in the $1,000 to $10,000 range. Their next response would indicate (1) their level of interest and (2) their financial means.

Why sell for $250 what you can sell for $2,500.

You never know until you try... and properly delivered you will STILL be able to save the $250 deal if the positioning fails to have the desired effect.

I worked for a company in Los Angeles that needed to change its name. They identified a name they liked and found that the domain was parked. They originally offered $100 for the name.

At the end of the negotiation they ended up paying $10,000. And they did so happily.

You never know unless you try.
