Hello everyone! This community seems way cool, and the info is priceless
I am very new to this, and before I started reading I started buying :hehe: (only a few though...namepros caught me just in time!).
I'd love to get some feedback on a few domain names I did purchase. They are:
mainframeoperatingsystems.com
conditionsexist.com
nobarbie (.com,.net,. and .org)
thestockexchange.mobi
painkillerdirect.com
Thanks in advance, and happy hunting!
Blimey, your priviledged, get the most stunning, most beautiful Lady in the whole community to reply to you straightaway, good on you!! :hehe:
First one is a bit long, try and look for shorter generics, no value there, well there is, but I'll come to that in a minute.
Second, no value.
Third, can't see anything here either.
Fourth, 'the' lets it down badly. Developed, you may sell it for something.
Fifth, I think this is your best and might be worth a few bob to the right end user. Now, I could quite easily say $80-100, maybe worth more if it read PainKillersDirect - in this instance, the lack of the 's' let's it down. If you had that, I might say around $600-900, but, and this is a Big BUT, it's not just about sticking a value on any name that matters, it's actually connecting with your ideal end user out there in the marketplace that is the problem. For all you know, it may be the pharmacy just down the road, or they might be halfway around the world. The hard part is finding them.
In the meantime, you could always develop the name, increasing exponentially it's inherent value.
Now, before you buy any more names, I want you to read up absolutely everything possible on this subject before you buy any more. Get yourself acquainted with domaining before you splash out your cash, I don't want to see you pouring money down the drain, buying up worthless names. Thank goodness you have only bought 5 so far, some people we have to give this advice out to, have bought a hundred, or indeed many more.
Your profit from the names above will come by teaching you a lesson upon how to invest in names wisely. As in any other business, this requires a lot of hard work, perseverance and research and it is not as easy as it looks on the surface. Having said that, there are good names out there, if you know what to look for.
Research everything as much as possible. Before buying a name, sleep on it first. If it's not available to you in the morning, nevermind, move on, there are always plenty of names dropping (expiring) every day and you'll soon discover lots more.
At the start try to avoid names with hyphens or numbers, until you really know what you are doing.
Go to Dynadot.com for registrations since there you can take advantage of the 5 day tasting period. If you need more info on this, just ask.
For the most secure searches for domain names, use Moniker.com
Best of luck, have to leave it there, since everyone has to be allowed to make their own mistakes, in order to learn the most from them, can't tell you everything.
Cheers mate.
Mark
