Talk about the gift that keeps on giving. A few years ago, I had purchased a portfolio of .com names from someone for a few hundred bucks. The names were nothing special, and to be honest, I have no idea why I bought this portfolio. Maybe it was a bad late night decision at the time?

After sitting on the names and renewing for a few years, I started to get some traction on them selling. I had sold one for low XXX, and another for mid XXX. Then nothing for a number of months. I had broke even and profited a bit from the portfolio, and to my surprise, another name sold on Afternic for a BIN of $1500. That was pretty awesome.

Last night, I was shocked when I received an email that another name from that portfolio sold for $2400 using the LTO offer. I had never done this before, and decided to give it a shot with a few names. The only downside is that I had it set to 24 months, so it's going to be a long road until all of the payments come in.

So, big picture, no outbound work, just setting and forgetting some pretty much useless names, and so far a 10x return on the total investment, with about 10 more domains left from that portfolio group.

Oddly enough, out of the couple hundred domains I have listed on Afternic, the only ones getting offers are the names from this portfolio. It's a head scratcher, as these names are really not that amazing, yet they seem to be the only ones driving any traction.

Does anyone else have good or bad experiences with the LTO offer?

Congrats, Cush! LTO is a very popular offering, and helps to create a snowball effect over time - new sales layer on top of recurring payments. Please feel free to DM us if you'd like to chat more about LTO or your portfolio setup!
