Hello NamePros members,

I am new to domain investing and recently purchased about 9 domains which I listed for sale on Afternic. A few days later, I shared some of these domains in a Facebook domainer group just to get feedback on pricing and marketability. Shortly after, I received my very first sales notification on Afternic — but the transaction was canceled. The next day, my Afternic account was suspended.

I immediately contacted Afternic support by phone, and the representative told me my account was permanently banned. However, she could not provide me with any explanation or details about why this happened, and she said she couldn’t escalate my case to higher management.

I want to make it clear that I have not done anything against Afternic policies, at least not intentionally. I am still new and learning. I am also more than willing to provide my ID, proof of address, or any verification documents if needed to prove my identity and compliance.

I really don’t understand why my account was closed this way, and I would appreciate any advice from the community or guidance on how to proceed.

Tagging @Joe Styler in case he could kindly provide some clarification or assistance.

Thank you.

Best regards,
[Mohamed Elhosseiny]

Yes, I have had new domains sell during the lock period and I had to wait.

Not sure what went wrong. Need to wait for a response from @Joe Styler or @GoDaddy to reply.

Honestly, all seller can't accept to wait when domain under 60 days lock by any registrar. But its your own risk when sell the domain at third party , you should honor their privacy

Push is very easy and only take in minutes , but when the platform choose to use AUTH Code only, you can do nothing. As long as you still holding the domain, you can try to sell on other platform

In some situation, probably Afternic see unusual activity in your account, indicated as illegal domains or buyer use chargeback , or your IP address has been flagged in massive spam

Lets see the real facts and respond from @Afternic team ,most of member here never know what's actually happen. Thank you

My opinion can be 100% wrong

Thanks for sharing this.

Suspensions at Afternic are rare, but when they happen, it's to protect the integrity of the marketplace. We'll connect with you via DM.

It’s already August 21 and the July 2025 Parking payouts have still not been processed.

This is not only my account — multiple domain investors are reporting the same issue.
Normally payouts are completed around the 15th–18th, but this is the first time we see such a long delay.

Godaddy @afternic Could you please confirm what is happening and when the July Parking payout will be released?

Thank you for sharing your perspective, I really appreciate it. I understand the 60-day lock and the possible scenarios you mentioned. However, I want to emphasize that I did not do anything against Afternic’s policies — at least not knowingly. This is my very first experience with domain selling, and I was honestly shocked to see my account permanently suspended right after my first sale.

That’s why I’m trying to escalate the matter and get an official explanation directly from the Afternic team. Hopefully I can get some clarity soon, because I truly want to use the platform in the right way.

This is off-topic for this thread. Can you DM us some details?

sellers do not get suspended for illegal activities of buyers.

since u mention like 5 times that u have no clue what u may have done intentionally to earn this... do u maybe have any clue what u did unintentionally?? or u have a whopping grand total of zero theories???

You’re right, sellers don’t get suspended because of a buyer’s actions. That’s exactly why I’m confused — I genuinely don’t know what I may have done unintentionally that triggered this. I’m new in this space and still learning, which is why I’m asking for guidance and pushing for an official review from Afternic to understand the real reason.

Check to see if the seller is using the same PC or IP address as you. They might have used your IP, which could lead to suspicion. Marketplaces and registrars are quite knowledgeable.

Personally, I don't like posting domains on social media because it can attract many fraudulent orders.

Thank you for pointing that out. As far as I know, I’ve only used my own PC and internet connection, but I’ll definitely double-check. I agree with you about social media — I only shared my domains once for feedback since I’m still new, but I now realize it might attract the wrong kind of attention. I’ll be more careful going forward.

It's all good, man! Go ahead and list your domain somewhere else while they sort things out. There are tons of marketplaces out there.

Thanks, man 🙏
I’ve already listed them on Spaceship with their landers, and also on Atom and Sedo.
Do you recommend any other good marketplaces I should try?

You mentioned discussing the names in a Facebook group. This could indicate someone in your local area was the buyer. It could also indicate that the buyer was someone close to you. In some way, this could have triggered something in their system. I hope you let us know what caused this.
