---------- Post added at 05:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:58 PM ----------

I have a business idea for this domain but it will take a serious amount of work, im just wondering if it is worth developing or reselling. Please any appraisals would be very helpfull

Horrible on a grand scale.

Hyphens should be avoided in almost all cases. Just to make life easier, it's probably best to avoid them altogether. Plus, even without the hyphen this wouldn't be a good domain. I would grace delete domain ASAP. IMO.

Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that this is a FREE appraisal. This is a guess at quick flip resale value not an unrealistic end-user price. Often times my appraisals are rushed, too low, or too high. Sometimes my advice is totally wrong and occasionally downright dumb. If the post stamp is after 5:00pm EST, the chances are even greater that inaccuracies will occur due to blood alcohol levels.

According to search volume, musical genius is typed in approx. 1300 times a month into google, so imo the value is $0 - $5 with the hyphen. You should follow the previous opinion and grace delete this one. The other thing you could do is develop a minisite with bios of "musical geniuses". Hyphens should usually only be GREAT keywords and .com for reselling and only other extensions if you plan on developing.

Good luck

I am going to disagree with microguy on his hyphen comments based on the fast that I have sold some hypenated domains including a dot org (mid$xxxx)and a wordhyphenwordhyphenword dot com (mid$xxx) amongst others, but the key to those domains was that they were keyword rich gambling domains.

Now, this domain is not keyword rich, nor is it a gambling domain, and now I agree with microguy on its value since it would be hard to make money with it.

This domain could be used for ANY music related website including the sale of music and even a record company

What you need to ask to yourself is, would someone actually want to pay for that domain. First you need to determine if there is a market (possible end users).
Usually people don't like paying a premium for a domain, they need a compelling reason for buying domains.
I think they can easily find a better domain available for reg fee. That makes your name worthless.

If the name was any good we would tell you but we are not going to tell you what you want to hear.

appraisal

Hello there.

I'm not qualified to appraise your domain name. I'm sure we've all bought or registered worthless domains. The people who have responded to your post have done so to help you out. They've taken the time to do for free, what you would otherwise have to pay for. It's not very nice to abuse them because you don't like the truth.

Regards

Ralph.

Stanley, its a vanity name.
Its a hyphenated domain
sdsinc has the right end of the argument with this domain I am affraid.
You could approach top composers, artists, and see if they would want it, but I don't think they would (just my opinion)
Even if you found a musical genius who wanted it, they would not pay alot for it, $20 or under.
Factor into the equation time spent emailing, corresponding, fee's, telephone calls, the hard sell, you would really be pushed to make a profit.

Oh and I agree with Ralph too. You asked for appraisal, you got a free, considered, one that normally you would have to pay for. You should be more dignified.

I should certainly hope so, you arent making any friends around here. They are taking a moment to do "YOU" a favour by giving a free appraisal, a simple "thank you" would have been fine.

I like how the name sounds, but I think the hyphen kills the name...low to mid xx

Good luck

Say that when the competition rolls in and generic domains are unavailable.
