"The newest release of MSN Mobile is now posted on our live site. To get there, just go mobile.msn.com on your phone. Or you can also go to msn.mobi or even m.msn.com...."

Interesting that they mention all 3 addresses. Who knows what they're up to.

People on both sides of the issue, have fun with this one. I gotta go to work, later.

No doubt people will choose to remember msn.mobi, simple, memorable and not confusing JMO :).

Sounds very confusing, mentioning all three. They should stick with the simplest one, msn.mobi, and promote it like crazy!

Keeping the hope alive

I don't know if I can even laugh at this, so I'll cry

i think it's the smart move of all companies to have all of them to get as much traffic as possible. that said, the marketing with all of them mentioned is pretty decent as the .mobi stands out and begs consumers to say, hmm i like the ease of that one, let me check it out. now if just the .mobi was marketed that would probably be better still, but i do not feel that any company using m.xxxxx or xxxxx/mobile and xxxxx.mobi detracts from .mobi, its a positive m-commerce.

as a side note, i like the mXXXX.mobi's and feel that at least one will stick, especially if words like m-commerce or m-solutions are tossed around on wall street or the news. so bring the "m's," wherever they are, hope each company has its mobi, and promotes its mobi, and with more and more people coming to the mSector, we'll all have enough slices of the mPie

Agreed. :talk:

However, Comcast has embraced and is heavily promoting the following ... :yell:
Get Email, News, and Weather on the go at m.comcast.net

It appears, unlike "backer" MSN, that they (Comcast) didn't even oblige their TM'd .MOBI with the benefit of this option, IMHO. Perhaps there was no incentive to try/use the .MOBI?

Please share your thoughts.

comcast is a local service provider here, but the only place i've seen it 'heavily promoted' is in your sig ... go figure?

Yeah, maybe ... though the extent of their current advertising and promotions leads me to believe that this IS their present and future adopted mobile platform! :music: :imho:

According to their trademark and Whois, they had the option to use their .MOBI as well ... and then didn't adopt that route! :red:

yeah, perhaps! whatever!

Thanks for the insight, friend.

Some supposed "facts" posted are just so false it's laughable.

Today's anti-mobi Falsehood Exposed:

1. Go to www.comcast.net OR www.comcast.com
2. Look for the purported "heavy promoting" or ANY reference to m.comcast.net at all.
3. Look for ANY promotion of comcast mobile anything.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 because someone repeatedly repeatedly repeatedly said it was HEAVILY promoted, implying that .mobi is unnecessary.
5. Pre-accept apology for goosechase.
6. Realize that you can't believe everything (or sometimes anything) you read especially from those with negative agendas and negative knee-jerk statements about the "failings" of the new and soon to be even more popular .Mobi extension.
7. Find a wall nearby because you will likely need to have one handy to pound your head against when the anticipated reply/rebuttal is posted instead of a deserved meaculpa.

Those are my thoughts.

This just out ..... Any fictional representations of budgies are solely for entertainment and informational purposes and do not reflect the views of the avian community at large.
