Probably some sort of mens site (playing off Mr./Mister), but that's a hard nut to crack. Making this a PPC garbage farm just seems like kind of a waste.

I personally love the direction that you are going with this site. Using MR for Mortgage Rates is a great move IMO. 2 quick things that I would advise though: change the light yellow color of the top menu because it reminds me of the yellow warning bar that IE uses because its close to the exact same shade of yellow and also maybe consider making the site look more like a research/statistics oriented site for all things related to mortgage rates because of the .org TLD. Of course, you can still monetize but the more that you take advantage of the .org and make the site look less commercial in nature then you could prob attract some decent links much easier than if you had adsense plastered all over the site and it was so overtly commercial in nature. Maybe a nice simple mortgage rates quote box would be better.

MR is used for "Mr." so overwhelmingly on the internet that its really too time consuming for us the research other uses, like Mental Relaxation. The auction value on this would be for "Mr." but bet you your end user will want it for some not so obvious use. I would just sit on it! I like your minisite cuz it tells the world: "I am not using the name properly, Make me an offer!" It would be easy for us to tell you to sell it at a big domain auction, but we don't know how much you paid for it, might be just churning money lol

I agree with the $xx,xxx (low end, for an end user that you should have a nice minisite developped for to give them an idea.... )

I think there are a HUGE amount of acronyms this could work with, but the most lucrative (arguably) would be something to do with "mortgage"... especially during this extended housing crisis in the US (and many other global markets)

Or hang on to it and wait for a top tier philanthropic / non-profit to approach with a $xxxxx offer - think of all the names that start with M & R

Mr.de sold at sedo last week for $15,900

Now that the market is picking up is Mr.org worth more or less than Mr.de ?

first of all.....all these bids on german 2letter, 1letter, etc. on sedo are not final sales. those were prebids. in fact, i heard that sedo only got 10 - 20 % of those names through his partners. but i am not sure. there were other professional german domainers, who could register those names in that one hour on friday through denic. maybe they will hold them and don't give them to sedo for that price. maybe they will... so we have to wait to see what happens.
nevertheless, that shows that people were ready to pay that amount of money. but you should know that .de domains and german market (.de) is the biggest, after .com, paying highest prices for .DE

The site looks like rubbish though, no idea what mr.org would really have to do with mortgages. Ok it starts with the letter "m". I could be worse though, we could have had another mesothelioma website, "mesothelioma resources" anyone?

I think you paid a good price for it going off what you have said and comparable sales.

I think you should sell it to an organisation that is MR related, (Medical Research Organization would fit like a glove) i always like to see domains used for their true purpose, that's the ultimate goal IMO.

I doubt the world needs another mortgage site in all honesty, but it should keep the Penny's rolling in whilst waiting for the ideal buyer.
