Interesting statistic, it's cheaper to ring a mobile in Ukraine than call one in the UK thru Skype. How odd!

Hm, I once had a girl call me from New Brunswick, Canada to Virginia Beach, Virginia that I met in a MSN group chat. She called and we talked one night for just over 8 hours (!) and the next night for 6.. :hehe: Just about $140CDN for the 2 calls..

Believe me, normally a 10 minute phone call is way too long for me.. I never expected to be on the phone that long ever but fell in love with her Canadian accent and I apparently impressed her too .. too bad she didn't look as good as she sounded!

Hahah...that's pretty much what my X used to do (when we were teens). Fortunately it was a time when our parents had to pay the bills...

My most expensive phone bill was on Dec 2006 when I had to call my folks back home for the holidays. It was a little over $100 - and we're talking about China so that's way above average here.

Not a phone call as such but a Bill of over 500 pounds $1000 because of a back door trojen on my old dial up

My longest phone call was about 6/7 hours but it was cheap as it was during the free calling time, and I don't call people unless I have free calling at the time...

My buddy had to pay about $1000 or something from texting so much in one month...his parents weren't too happy...

Calling from a Russian hotel room to the US - 30 minute phonecall, I was charged $1,600 if I remember correctly (US $ - at the time that was a small fortune - this would have been 1992-1993). It was a less than upstanding hotel (Received knocks on the door all night from women of the night) and I paid it on my CC to avoid an incident, and then promptly disputed it when back here.

Largest "proper" charge? $20-$30 long distance phonecalls were the norm for keeping in touch with family.

I called my friend in New York for about 10 mins from Disneyland...OMG $50 when i got home. I was about 15 then, and damn that was a lot of money!

Also, a freind of mine got charged $300 for his internet-phone line. The internet provider said the number was local, but the phone company had signed him up for long distance, and the "local" number wasn't. He called the provider and got them to DC service, and left it all for MCI to pick up, since he'd never asked to have long distance, and should never have had that connect in the first place.
