Money from emails???

I read recently about this concept where you open a domain, and rent email space on it. EG I open www.myspace.com (already registered). I then advertise the site, and offer email space, so that people can setup [email protected] for something like $20 a month; no spam, no junk, virus protection etc. If this idea would work, does anyone know how to go about setting up such a site. So basically, i would be renting out email accounts to use my domains name. Any ideas?

Basically, you're looking for a VISP service (virtual ISP). These generally allow you to create pop3 accounts attached to your VISP domains as well as webspace (either subdomains to your visp domains or your customers own domains).

Pricing structures can vary, for example there should VISP services available for a one-off fee, or a smaller one with monthy fees...or a "pay as you go" type set-up where it costs you eg. $10 for each customer and you pass that on.

Attached to this is also callshare for "pay as you go" internet access, where you can make money from people simply dialing up at local rate (in uk anyway)...not sure about other countries.

Here is something similar but with a yourown subdomain. You can also get similar emails features in USA.NET [costly but highly reliable, last I had an account in Amexbank-USA.NET co branded.
