Please use this thread to place FINAL SALES VALUES of completed mobi auctions, whether at Pool, eBay, Sedo or the like. Do not place price if the domain name didn't hit reserve. Just final sales. Those confirmed by DN Journal are also provided and with date.

I think some of these are steals and others are so-so. I think the shorter ones with meaning will be the best. ConferenceCalls just seems too long. I guess if dotMobi takes off then all of these will be great deals. What do you guys think?

I agree, and the shorter-is-better argument would seem to be even more an issue with .Mobi compared to other extensions. A few attempts typing with one of those tiny keyboards has convinced me of this.

Damn good beginning run of sales for .mobi, which was against what I originally thought, and I'll be looking forward to seeing more end-user sales once the technology plays out to what format becomes widely used on mobile devices.

On one hand I tend to agree but then what options do you have to cover the area of "Music Downloads"; may be its singular version or just have "Download.mobi"...

While getting some hotel names (AtlantaHotels.mobi, PhoenixHotels.mobi, etc) I myself struggled with this issue of length of the names to some extent but then again unless you have "Hotels.mobi" which ain't gonna happen, what's the choice? Leave the entire "Hotel" related field untouched while knowing well that its one of most well-establised area of (PC-based) Internet monetization; mobile web is not going to be much different in this regard.

These are steals because they are not on the open market. The only bidders allowed are those who preregistered for these domains on pool.com. If these were on the open market, who knows what they would fetch.

The reason why I'm being so nit-picky is because these prices shouldn't be used as guides for market pricing. :imho:

On a related note, I registered concall.mobi this morning thanks to this message.

Excellent point. The best names are often secured in the early going through very thorough efforts. Window of opportunity is open for brief period.
