Hello everyone, I'm new to Drop Catching. I would like to know from more experienced people in this field what methods of searching for a live and good drop with cool traps you use, because I still don't understand at all how to see empty domains, ahrep always lies or gives out information out of thin air). I'm currently looking at approximate traps and everything. I would like it to immediately show only domains that had good Organic traffic and cool Backlinks. I would be very grateful for your help.

You can start by checking expired domain lists on platforms like ExpiredDomains.net, then filter by backlinks, archive history, and spam score. Also verify backlinks with multiple tools since Ahrefs alone is not always accurate.

Also please check the article above mentioned by Mr. Eric

For ccTLD drops like .uk and .fr, I'd add that the standard tools (Ahrefs, Majestic) often show outdated or incomplete data for regional domains. What works better is cross-checking with Wayback Machine to confirm the site was actually live and had real content - not just backlinks. For .uk specifically, checking the Nominet WHOIS history gives you more reliable drop timing than third-party trackers.

For me, a "live and good" drop should have clean history, relevant past use, and a clear path to hold and build on it after acquisition.
